In many rural communities, particularly across the American West, ranchers, farmers, water managers, and local residents are increasingly concerned that the expansion of large-scale data centers could intensify already significant water challenges.

**ANIMAL MOVEMENT RESTRICTION UPDATE**
While there has not been a confirmed case of New World Screwworm in Oklahoma, ODAFF continues to work closely with our partners at USDA to monitor its spread.

Please see the updated animal movement restrictions below.

New World Screwworm is an invasive pest that primarily infests livestock and wildlife but will infest any warm-blooded mammal. New World Screwworm does not impact food and the food supply is safe.

It is important to frequently inspect all livestock, pets and captive wildlife for signs of NWS.

Report any suspicious wounds or suspected cases of NWS immediately to your local veterinarian, local County Extension Agent, or the ODAFF State Veterinarian at 405-522-6141.

⚠️Officially from the Oklahoma Agriculture, Food and Forestry Department:
To date there has NOT been a confirmed case of New World Screwworm (NWS) in Oklahoma.
However, Oklahoma producers, pet, exotic and captive wildlife owners, wildlife rehabilitators, veterinarians, hunters, and wildlife officials are asked to remain vigilant to help protect Oklahoma's livestock, pet, and wildlife populations.
