When your dog stays with us overnight during the winter months, their safety remains our top priority.

Cold temperatures, icy surfaces, and winter chemicals require extra care and attention. Our team adjusts outdoor time, carefully supervises all potty breaks, and performs routine paw checks to help prevent irritation or discomfort. Each dog’s individual needs are always considered because no two dogs experience winter the same way.

❄️ Winter Weather Announcement for Sunday & Monday 🌨

With a winter storm expected tonight and tomorrow, we wanted to reach out and reassure pet parents that your dogs are in the very best hands.

As is typical, our team is stepping up in true Playful Pups fashion. We have dedicated, incredibly committed team members staying in-facility throughout the storm to ensure uninterrupted, exceptional care for every dog currently with us. When weather turns challenging, our priority remains exactly where it belongs...on the safety, comfort, and well-being of the dogs entrusted to us.

If your dog is currently with us for overnight lodging, please know they are being cared for as if they were our own. Our team will be there for:
🐾 Extra snuggles
🐾 Supervised playtime in the snow (as weather allows)
🐾 Plenty of cozy indoor enrichment and activities
🐾 Consistent routines, meals, and attentive care

We are deeply proud of our team and grateful for their dedication, this level of commitment is what has defined Playful Pups Retreat for years, and it’s something we never take lightly.

Our lodging dogs don’t just rest, they play, socialize and enjoy time with friends.

Group play is a wonderful way for pups to build confidence, burn energy, and feel right at home during their stay. And of course, there are plenty of goofy bloopers along the way!

Please note: Dogs must complete a play group evaluation before joining our group play sessions to ensure a safe and positive experience for everyone.

We truly love spending our days with these incredible dogs.

January is National Train Your Dog Month, and we’re excited to spotlight our Polite Pups program, a specialty training add-on offered exclusively during overnight lodging at our Milton Grove location.

Designed for pups staying 4 nights or longer, Polite Pups focuses on building good manners and confidence through skills like polite greetings, leash manners. Every dog is different, and our training team tailors sessions to meet their individual needs. If you want your pup working on specific type of training let us know!
