Safe Haven Safe Haven operates a no-kill shelter in Elizabeth, IL. and is a registered 501(c)(3) organization. Safe Haven's shelter can house 13 dogs and 12 cats.

Are you familiar with Adventure Cats?

An "adventure cat" is a domestic cat that has been trained to explore the outdoors alongside its human companion.

At Safe Haven, board member, Brooke, has been training 2 of our adoptable kitties to be Adventure Cats. Here's what she tells us:

"Maggie and Stevie are officially in training to become adventure kitties! These sweet sisters are a bonded pair, less than a year old, and have been learning the ropes of harness and leash walking. Using clicker training, lots of Churu treats, and plenty of patience, we're helping them build confidence and feel comfortable exploring the world safely. It's been so much fun watching their personalities shine as they learn new skills together. I can't wait to see where our adventures take us next!"

You might have seen me on here before. No one knows why I'm still here. I am such a sweet boy, at least that is what everyone says. I love humans so much and really want to call somebody my own. I enjoy other cats as well. I like to play with toys, especially wands. I love to cuddle up on laps and make biscuits on your belly. I will love you forever! I really hope somebody fills out an application for me soon. I like it here at the shelter and everyone is really good to me, but I really want to find my forever family. Could it be you?💙
