One of the things I like best about this job is some of the unique and interesting animals that come into the shop. This mule deer was taken by Joel from Wisconsin, hunting with Running Cedar Outfitters in Erickson. He was estimated at 6 1/2 years old and there were trail camera photos of him looking like this when he was 1 1/2 years old already so spent most of his life with a messed up face.  Lord only knows what happened to him. Joel got himself a very unique trophy!

Calvin and two good friends, Tyler & Jake, set out to get Calvin a Nebraska bull and harvested this beauty in the first hour of the season! They spotted this bull 2000 yards away with a herd of cows. Jake started bugling & cow calling and this guy rounded up his cows and brought the whole herd to inside 200 yards. Close enough for Calvin as he dropped the bull in his tracks with the first shot. A great team effort!

 I had a dream come true this last fall, got to be with my oldest grandson, Cole Schmitt, when he harvested his first deer/buck. And then having the opportunity to mount it for him was the icing on the cake!  Very proud of Cole as he kept his cool and made a perfect 25 yard shot with the crossbow. Hoping to be blessed enough to do that with as many of my grandkids as possible!
