Story time! About a year ago we decided to get back into fish keeping. We started this hobby when we were kids and probably did EVERYTHING wrong, but it's something that stuck with us.

It's so beautiful seeing how something as simple as a fish tank can make you feel like a kid again — lost in your own world. I hope we can all get a little lost this weekend doing something we truly love. ❤️

‼️Update on giant beta spawn #1‼️ These babies are growing so fast! I did a deep cleaning of all the debris today and started up the sponge filter now that they can handle a slight current. I've said it before, but I can't wait to see them color up!!

This was taken at the beautiful Japanese Garden in San Antonio last week. ❤️ The koi were absolutely MASSIVE! It was so nice to see them so happy and well taken care of.

I did a little digging and learned that prior to WWII, the garden was taken care of by a Japanese family. The family served tea and small meals at a tea house inside the garden. They raised their family, including 5 children at there and when WWII started, were forced to leave.

The City changed the name to Chinese Garden for fear of vandalism. Since then the garden's original title has been restored and the children of the original caretakers returned to celebrate the restoration the City had done two the gardens.

My angry, beautiful Pegasus...He didn't make it. He got an infection when I was getting him ready to spawn with Io and took a turn for the worst.

His beard was inflamed, his fins began to decay and despite medication and special care he passed. SIP beautiful boy 💘

I'm considering doing black gravel with some other rocks and a green carpet plant... We shall see.

‼️ UPDATE ‼️ After much deliberation, I decided to place Sunny in a hospital tank with salt to see if it helps improve his ability to eat. Sending a prayer that he heals up and will be able to eat normally.

Picked up some plants from last weekend. They made a HUGE difference!! I've always wanted pink plants and now I have them! I can't wait for them to fill in all the empty space.

WE WON A FISH TANK!! teamed up with to do a raffle and we won a Fluval 15 gallon set up with substrate. It will be most likely stocked with some cute little schooling fish and a betta.. but I'm not telling you which type!!

Simple aquascapes can look AMAZING! These green floaters have literally taken over this tank and I have to trim them weekly and remove a couple handfuls too. Our bettas LOVE the shade from the bright light and to swim through the roots. ❤️🌱

‼️Wild Betta Alert ‼️ Shy Guy has been moved to another tank and is adjusting so well! Since he's a betta Stiktos, Shy Guy is very timid and requires a heavily planted tank to feel comfortable and safe. I'm glad it all worked out. Stay tuned for Cusco's new set up!

Looking around the corner to see if Christmas is close by... Pegasus and our white platinum female, Io, are going to have their FIRST ever spawn next month and I'm BEYOND excited!

After the holidays, is going to come over and check out my set up and give me pro tips on handling betta breeding and spawns.

DALLAS FISH TRIP WITH !!

Hey y'all! Betta breeding projects are underway for me and my dear friend . While our LFS (local fish stores) can have wonderful selections finding quality breeding bettas, especially Giants, can ve difficult. So we decided to do a day trip to Dallas. Yes, 3 hours for fish (if you like fish, you get it 😜).

We picked up a bunch of giant bettas from a transhipper in Dallas. And boy were we happy with these fish! They are absolutely gorgeous. We can't wait to share them with you soon and talk about our breeding projects 💖
