So I have had a few people ask me why I was rehoming my Cream Legbar breeding flock. Here's why.... Lately I've been spread so thin that I can't devote all my time to everything. So I took a step back and thought about what I really wanted out of the farm and what direction I wanted to take it in the future. So for the last few years it has been extremely hard to sell chicks to the public so I decided to get a breed that was auto-sex-able at hatch, meaning you can tell pullets from roosters at the time of hatch. Well that was even worse because then everyone always wanted pullets and I always got stuck with the roosters. So with that being said I will not be hatching chicks for a long while. I love watching chicks hatch and growing but I just want to get back to loving my chickens again. When something that use to bring you joy doesn't anymore then it's time to reevaluate it. But I'll still have chickens don't worry! Of course I'll have some eating eggs up for discussion for anyone wanting some when my current chicks start laying but no more chicks or hatching eggs will be offered at this time. I'm sorry for the inconvenience.

Well Harley's story continues. If you've been following a while you know we rescued this little girl from the CVS parking lot just before she ran out into the traffic at a red light. We searched for her owners with no luck and she's been with us ever since but she hasn't been with us long. Well today we confirmed that Ms Harley is indeed pregnant so we will be having little kittens running around the farm soon.

(Before someone comes after me and says you should have gotten her spayed. Please consider that she hasn't been with us very long and some vets are extremely backed up at the moment. Plus all of my cats, inside and outside, are spayed/neutered so I have no idea who the father even is. She may have been pregnant when we found her who knows.)
