I chose this image because after reading through my medical reports a few weeks ago, I discovered when the air embolism hit my heart, it caused a STEMI ( ST-Segment Elevation Myocardial Infarction) which is a severe type of heart attack caused by a complete blockage of a coronary artery, leading to significant heart muscle damage. It's honestly a miracle that I'm still here! One of the cardiologists I saw while in the hospital in Buffalo told us the only time he witnessed an air embolism, the patient didn't make it. Praise God for the prayers that were being lifted for me that day, and all the days since!

So, with that all being said, on this past Wednesday, after only 8 weeks, I started grooming again! 🙌🙌 I didn't want to post about it right away since I wasn't sure how it would go. But so far, so good!!

I'll be in touch soon to get your pups scheduled..... Please be patient with me. Also, I have a LOT of follow-up tests and appointments in the near future that I will need to take off for. My health is now my #1 priority, as I'm sure you can understand. ❤️

Also, at this time and for the foreseeable future, I will not be taking on any new dogs, even if you're already an established customer. I'm sorry, but my schedule just won't allow it.

I saw two doctors this morning at my P*P office. They suggested taking the entire month of December off to give my heart time to heal from all of the extra trauma caused by the ablation. I'm very sorry, but I agree I need to do this. Below is a list of*some* local groomers. It's December though so I don't know if any of them will have openings. If you take your dog to another groomer, I am more than happy to pass along what I do for his/her haircut. Just reach out to me a few days in advance. I hope you all have a Merry Christmas and a safe and Happy New Year! I'm praying 2026 is kinder to me and my family! 💙

Heart ablation update:

On 11/20/25, I went to Pittsburgh for a heart ablation, a pretty common and safe procedure. Unfortunately, I had multiple very serious complications. I was supposed to be discharged and take a week off work, but due to the complications, I spent the next 5 days in the cardiac ICU. I finally came home Tuesday evening. Since being home, I've already made one trip to the ER for an infection at the incision site. I've also been in A-Fib most of the time I've been home. This has caused me to become short of breath with any amount of walking or even doing small easy tasks. I've already cancelled all my dogs for Monday and Tuesday, and will need to cancel Wednesday morning for an appointment with my P*P. Based on how I've felt since having the procedure, I honestly don't know when I'll be able to return to work. 💔

I will update again Wednesday after my appointment. I'm so sorry. This has been a VERY challenging year for me and I was VERY hopeful that having the ablation would be the turning point. If you believe in the power of prayer, I humbly ask if you'd keep me in your prayers. Thank you. ❤️

I'm going to attempt some small dogs tomorrow. As long as all goes well, I will be back to my normal schedule on Monday. I plan on working the next few Saturdays and also putting a dog on in the evenings until I'm caught up. Thank you all so much for your understanding and patience, but most of all for your thoughts, prayers, messages and support! ❤️🫶❤️

Sunday, 10/12/25 update:

Still improving, however, still unable to groom for a little while longer. I'm going to cancel both Monday and Tuesday for now. Will update again on Tuesday.

It's improving!! The swelling has REALLY gone down and I've been able to write and eat using it! Got Round 2 of my rabies shots this morning.
However, I cannot groom until that big wound closes completely. I will update again on Sunday. Until then, please keep praying for quick healing. I'm also concerned this is going to make me leery of dogs, especially new dogs that I'm not familiar with. I pray that doesn't happen.

If your dog isn't vaccinated for rabies, get it done!! Having to go through these shots hasn't at all been fun!

A lot of you might have already heard, but for those who have not I got bit today by a stray dog that I was trying to get out of the road. It is pretty bad! I will not be able to groom at all this entire week. I will reach out to everyone that has an appointment in addition to this post. I am so sorry for this inconvenience. 💔😢

As of this morning, the West Eldred Road is closed! If you normally come to my shop from the Coryville (State Route 446) end, you will now need to go into Eldred, turn left onto State Route 346 at the Kendall bridge, go about 1 mi and turn left onto the West Eldred Road. If you need any help please text or call me.

‼️HEADS UP ‼️

The bridge on the West Eldred Road, just south of Fowler Brook Road (the road I'm on) is being replaced starting next week. If you come from the Port Allegany, Coudersport, Galeton or Smethport areas, you will need to drive into Eldred and access the West Eldred Road from the four corners intersection, locally known as Devil's Elbow.
