Hello everyone! It's show season! Our first show is May 2nd! We will have a queen contest starting at 9am and our horse show will start right after the queen contest! Registration for the queen contest will start at 8am! Hope to see you all there!! Here is the show bill, keep in mind we will not have any halter classes for the May show.

Good Morning and Happy 2026!

So as I have been telling everyone, there has been a big update coming. Today I get to announce that my wife and I are expecting baby #3 this summer; along with this, my farrier practice is going to be changing a bit.

First off, I will not be traveling quite as much, as I want to put more focus on family and picking up a bit more work on the farm.

Second, I have slimmed down my client deck quite a bit. However, I do not believe that there is anyone left who this would pertain to, so no one else should be getting fired.

Third, I will no longer be available 6-7 days a week. This summer I will be available 4-5 days a week to my clients. Please remember my phone will be turned off from every Saturday at 5 pm until 7 am Monday morning.

Rough Woods Farrier Is Expanding in 2026!!

This has been in the talks for a while and I would like everyone's opinion (so please "like" one of the options below or give your thoughts on what you would like to see.)

I am looking to either invest in a MagnaWave or The ProSeries 3 in 1 Horse Blanket.

**Scheduling Update**

During the month of September my availability will be restricted to weekday evenings and Saturdays (excluding the 6th and 20th). This will cripple the number of horses I will be able to do during this time so please plan accordingly.

With harvest beginning in October, a lot of planning will be dictated by weather so I will be sure to give updates as we get closer.

I’m thankful that I am someone who can honestly say I love what I do. It took a lot of work getting caught up after all the events this spring but we are finally getting there.

Today’s update: After some careful consideration, I am closing my client deck to anyone new for now (most likely permanently).

Here are a few of the fun pictures I got to take wile on the road this spring. I really get to see everything, from caring for my first fjord to seeing my first Arabian-mule (who knew they made those??)

2025 has been off to a great start! Spring has brought about lots of new faces and experiences but the most exciting thing coming this spring will be a new “Baby Day”. My wife, Haley, and I are expecting our daughter to be born around the end of April, so I will not be as available these next few weeks.

Hey Everybody,

I apologize for the uncertainty of appointments these past couple months. As some of you know, I had messed up my right wrist and was unable to do any farrier work, then followed that up by being sick. I am now beginning to work again, so I am moving a little slower than I was this fall but am scheduling appointments again.

I would like to thank Everyone for their patience, I finally got my replacement phone up and running and will be starting to return messages in the morning. I believe I have at least most of the contacts from my old phone so thats definitely something to be thankful for!

I want to let everyone know my phone quit working, I can't receive or send any messages and I no longer have everyone's contact information. I will try to remedy the situation ASAP and hopefully get back to those of you who were trying to contact me. Through my wife's phone, I still have access to my calendar and won't need to miss any appointment that are already scheduled, but won't be able to schedule any new appointments for a few days. Once I get a new phone I will post here again that I am once again open for business. I will be keeping my phone number so you can still contact me in a few days.
