🐾💔 Dylan is still waiting… and we truly believe his forever home is out there somewhere. 💔🐾 Long read please read it! Please share!!

There are some dogs who don’t ask for much… they don’t need toys, they don’t need fancy things, and they don’t need constant attention.

They just need space. Freedom. And a place where they belong.

Dylan is one of those dogs.

We are searching for a very special home for him—out in the country, where he can run freely, explore, and live life the way he has always known it. A home with a dog or two to be his buddies is a must. He does great with other dogs and truly enjoys their company. A farm with lots of acres, open space, and canine friends is exactly what he needs.

Dylan didn’t come from a life of structure or city living. He came from a farm and arrived to us last year on Halloween. In fact, the family he came from never even gave him a name. When their place was being sold, we were told that if we couldn’t take him, he would have simply been left behind. From the very beginning, his life has been about surviving outside and learning the world through the outdoors.

And while he is safe here and does well in the kennel and dog yard, we can see it in him… his heart isn’t meant for four walls and short walks. His heart belongs somewhere wide open, under the sky, where he can finally feel free.

It’s hard not to wonder if Dylan is still waiting for the life he was always meant to have.

We are still accepting donations of creative items of all kinds. Any bakers, crafters, sewists, artists, woodworkers, and creators of all kinds, we would love to see your work! We are having our Summer Pawtique and Bake Sale on Saturday July 11th starting at 10AM. The sale will be held outdoors, weather permitting, otherwise indoors. We are accepting donations of items during regular office hours, or you can leave items in the entryway anytime. Please sign our guestbook if you choose, and let us know what you donated. Thank you in advance for your support. Please stop and shop our variety of craft items, canned goods, and baked goodies on July 11th. This young, sweet boy is full of love and energy. We swear he’s part kangaroo—when he gets excited, he launches all four paws off the ground! 🦘😂

💜 We just wanted to share this beautiful donation made in memory of Terrie Mohrmann. Terrie was kind enough to help us with our Christmas porch pot fundraiser last year, and her generosity and support meant so much to us.

We are truly honored that her memory is being celebrated through a gift to help the animals in our care. Our thoughts are with her family and friends, and we are incredibly grateful for this meaningful tribute. 🐾💜

🐾 Surrender Request Update 🐾

We know surrendering a pet is never an easy decision, and we are here to help when we can.

At this time, our dog kennels are full, and our isolation area is currently undergoing construction and upgrades, which has significantly limited our available space. Because of this, there may be a wait before we can accept owner-surrendered animals.

Please keep in mind that every animal entering our shelter has different needs. Some may require vaccinations, medical treatment, spay/neuter surgery, behavioral evaluations, or additional care, which means each animal's stay in our isolation area can vary greatly. Because of this, it is difficult for us to predict exactly when space will become available.

Please continue to submit a surrender application if you need assistance. We will contact you once we receive your application and do our best to provide an estimated timeline. When space becomes available, we will reach out to schedule an intake appointment.

If you need immediate placement for your pet, we encourage you to contact other shelters and rescue organizations as well.

Meet Gimli! 🐾

This handsome guy is the definition of a gentle giant. We were told he’s a mastiff we think he may have some bloodhound in him. While he can be a little stubborn on walks, he makes up for it with his sweet and loving personality!

Gimli came to us when his owner had to move back to Florida and couldn’t take him along. We don’t know a lot about his past, but we do know he’s a wonderful dog who we feel could fit into just about any home. Due to his size, a home without apartment living would be best.

Meet Miss Molly! 🐾

Miss Molly appears to be a Lab/Pit mix and is as sweet as can be! She loves people and is always ready for some attention and cuddles.

Molly came to us as a stray after spending about a week wandering around Elbow Lake. Now she’s safe and hoping to find a family of her own.

We feel Molly would do best as an only dog or possibly with male dogs. Stop by and meet this beautiful girl you just might fall in love! ❤️
