I went in to do some cleaning today and discovered that someone had stolen a couple of the chains used to secure dogs in the tubs and one from the grooming table. I usually keep a good eye on things but I’ve been helping the family with the sports bar for the past couple of weeks and didn’t notice. Needless to say, I was pretty ticked off as it’s a little costly to replace all the parts that are involved. Then when I went back to close up for the night I found the “slippery when wet” floor sign broken into two pieces and placed on a shelf. Those cameras really do work people! I went back thru the videos after the time I had left earlier and found this. This child was allowed to swing a retractable leash around and around in a big circle, broke the sign by pushing down in it, and was stepping on one of the $35 deshedding tools that was thrown in the floor all while his parent was right there. She had to have heard it. This right here is a perfect example of why no one will invest their hard earned money (or borrow the money) to open something for the kids to do in this town. You could have lit a match on my backside.
Well behaved children are welcome to come help mom or dad wash their dog. This type of behavior, however, won’t be tolerated. Evidently I will have to start being more mindful of what goes on when my phone notifies me that someone is there. I will be checking every morning for missing items and if there is something missing I’ll be going back thru the cameras to identify the person(s) responsible. 99% of my customers are wonderful but then there are those that think it’s okay to go thru the bathroom cabinet and use/take items that I have there for my personal dogs, steal things, and let their kids go wild. Just because I’m not there personally doesn’t mean I can’t see what goes on. If you are caught taking something that doesn’t belong to you, you will be turned in for theft and trespassed from the property. If I see children running amok and tearing things up it takes me about 3-4 minutes to get from my home to the dog wash. We’ve tried to make a convenient place for people to groom their pets but disrespecting the property won’t be tolerated.
