Are you someone who’s passionate about animals and wants to make a difference in your community?

If you’re seeing this post, then probably! This is your sign to get started today on volunteering at the Humane Society of El Paso!

As a volunteer with HSEP, you have the opportunity to learn and grow in multiple departments (including maintenance, enrichment, medical, and more), get hands-on experience with shelter pets, and spend your volunteer hours in what’s perhaps the absolute most exciting way possible. You’re able to gain volunteer hours you may need for your current programs and have the experience of a lifetime touching the lives of your furry friends. HSEP’s volunteer program is based on your schedule as well! After the initial scheduled orientations, you’re free to give your time whenever you have the time to spare - it’s all paws on deck, and your help is appreciated any hour of the day!

Stop in and meet all available pets today, any time during operating hours! The Humane Society of El Paso is open every day of the week and all adoptees go home already spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on age-appropriate vaccines. No appointment is needed to meet all residents in person and the whole family is welcome (furry family members included), so stop in to meet the newest addition to your pack!

Or even better, Sharkie Day (AKA Gotcha Day), when you stop in and fall in love with this amazing pup. This one-year-old cutie is still very much a puppy in more ways than just age! He’s a happy-go-lucky guy who’s friends with everyone he meets immediately, with no hesitation. Of course, nothing gets this guy going like a game of tug or fetch (he’s an expert at both) and his active nature is sure to put a pep in your step!

It's been 220 Days of waiting for The One, and Sandy remains patiently waiting...

This amazing girl has been waiting to meet her furever family since January of this year. While her time before HSEP is unknown, the staff have come to learn a lot about her during her stay, as well as teach her so much to set her up for her furever home.

Sandy is:

✅ Leash-trained
✅ House-trained
✅ A Fetch Expert

On top of that, she has just the goofiest, sassiest personality you'll ever know and adorable looks that will blow you away. “Brunch?” - The HSEP puppies

If you love brunch, bubbles, and baby animals, you have to check out Puppies & Prosecco! (Puppies-at-heart included 😍) Saturday, September 12, the canine companions of HSEP will be headed off-site to Hilton Garden Inn for brunch (complimentary glass of Prosecco included!) and a chance to find their furever home! This event is from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m., and the dogs attending will have a discounted adoption fee of just $70!

It’s that time of year again!

Fall Intersession is coming up quick, and your kiddoes have the chance to make the most of it this year with the Humane Society of El Paso. Registration is now open for two weeks of SunCity Animal Heroes Camp, where your child can learn all about the skills it takes to be a responsible pet owner with hands-on experience and paw-some activities! A snack is provided, and camp is 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. on-site Monday through Friday for the weeks of Sept. 28 - Oct. 2 and Oct. 5 - Oct. 9!

Sandy and all of her amazing qualities just had to hop on this trend!

Sandy is HSEP’s longest resident (despite all of her outstanding best-friend-level talents) and has been waiting to meet her furever family since January. This two-year-old Australian Cattle Dog mix has all of the qualities you’re looking for in a best friend and more; she’s housetrained, leash-trained, polite in the car, a friend to every person and animal she meets, an absolute toy fiend, though perfectly polite indoors with furniture! She’s an active gal who can keep up with you in every activity and a true go-anywhere kind of pal - all you need to do is stop in and give this loving little lady a chance.

She’s spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, available for foster today, and her adoption fee is waived. Help Sandy find her family once and for all, share her story to help get as many eyes on her as possible.
