🦷 Why do we take dental X-rays? And why are we monitoring your pet the entire time?

When your pet is under anesthesia for a dental procedure, there’s a lot more happening than just cleaning their teeth.

🩻 Dental X-rays allow us to see what’s happening below the gumline, including damaged tooth roots, bone loss, abscesses, and other problems that can’t be seen just by looking at the teeth. A tooth may look perfectly healthy on the outside while being diseased underneath.

❤️‍🩹 Anesthesia monitoring is just as important. While your pet is asleep, our team continuously monitors things like heart rate, respiratory rate, oxygen levels, blood pressure, temperature, and other vital parameters. This allows us to identify changes quickly and respond when needed.

Every pet deserves more than just a “teeth cleaning.” Our goal is to provide a thorough dental evaluation, appropriate treatment, and careful anesthetic monitoring from start to finish.

Because they can’t tell us when something hurts, we have to look a little deeper. 🐾🦷

Another ✨Second Chance Spotlight with ✨

Meet Samantha!

Samantha has been in the shelter since May of 2025. Despite being adopted and returned due to no fault of her own, this girl is extremely sweet.

Samantha has been friendly around other pups who can match her play style, loves treats, knows sit, and is eager to learn more tricks. One of her goofiest quirks is that she likes to run for about 1 minute, and then will plop down as soon as she's had enough.

She's been described as an "intense lover" because she can get a little wild when giving hugs and kisses, so we recommend a home with older kids for her.

This girl just needs a chance, and can't wait to finally get out of the shelter. If you can be her second chance, come by 5625 Confetti, any day between 12-6pm to meet her.

Plus, her adoption fee will be completely waived now through August 31st as part of and 's campaign!

✨Another Second Chance Spotlight with !✨

This is Oreo's second time in our shelter.

When we first met him, he was a couple of weeks old, and so ready to meet his forever family. Now that he's back, it seems like he's still learning about the world, and is so excited to explore it.

Oreo is a dedicated guy - he's been working on his people skills and leash training, and will happily work for food, treats, and scritches! He's a dedicated fetch player, just without the actual bringing-the-ball-back part.

This guy is just a year old, and has never really known a true family. If you think he could be your perfect match, he's ready to meet you, at 5001 Fred Wilson, open every day 11am-6pm.
