Decent food and appropriate treats can make a huge difference in your dogs oral health. When we got Low Down she had pretty ugly teeth. All we’ve done is provided a decent quality kibble along with natural chews like bully sticks, pig ears, and yak chews and you can see the difference! Also pls appreciate the effort that went in to getting an updated pic of Low Downs mouth as it was not easy. Ty.

In the past few days we’ve taken in 5 new pups. I want to thank my birthday fundraiser donors who allowed these dogs to be saved. With one notable exception, we don’t take in dogs we don’t have funds for so thank you to those who donate to our cause. It means a lot. If you’d like to donate to our current or the next batch of intakes, it would be much appreciated. I would never have been able to save FIVE without donations. Our two Fitfam famous puppies for tax. Both their stories have been posted in the last couple days.

Meet Noah. He’s a special needs 7 month old puppy that fell out of a truck bed and landed on his head. He was knocked out cold for several minutes and when he came to he couldn’t walk straight. These issues may be for life but he is still a happy puppy. He’s not quite available yet but stay tuned and reach out if you’re interested. He is very bitey and very playful.

This video is hard to watch. It circulated the internet a couple months ago and Animal services obtained legal custody of this dog earlier this month. I’m not aware of any charges being pressed but the puppy is safe and a couple months older. The comments, for the majority, were ok, but I did see some people defending this “training”. Let me make this clear; if you can’t make a puppy sit without jerking on a collar and you can’t make him down without stepping on his leash, dog training may not be for you. Before you tell me “blah blah blah BuT WoRkInG DoGs”, let me tell you I own them and rescue them. They’re the EASIEST kind of dog to train and if you can’t do it, find a new job. This is disgusting. Ace is his name and he is looking for an EXPERIENCED home that will keep him for life, understand he’s an obnoxious mali puppy, and will give him a jobby job. He’s got great toy and treat drive (making this method even more disgusting) and is looking for an appropriate home. Breed experience required. He will be neutered prior to any adoption. Rescue transfer welcome. Pic in comments.

Today we took in two new dogs and committed to a cruelty case puppy with behavior issues that will arrive tomorrow. While I was leaving the shelter, yet another one came in. These dogs are not for everyone. Most can not sit in the back yard all day and be happy. Many will become destructive when they’re bored if you’re lucky and aggressive if you’re unlucky. Now look, I don’t want to gate keep the breed because there are so many in the shelter, but if you cannot commit to engaging with them for some quality training during your day, don’t get them. They’re a fun breed, they really are, but most people who think they want a smart dog that’s easy to train really need a dumb dog that’s easy to live with. Welcome puppy, Lucita, and Rocky to Shedding El Paso!
