Squeakin' Pups - Rattery We specialize in breeding happy, healthy, & adorable pet rats + providing quality supplies & support. We are not an official rattery or business.

We specialize in breeding happy, healthy, and sociable pet rats. All of our Squeakin' Pups are held and loved on from the very first week of life. Our entire family, including children, have a hand in playing with and caring for our litters. We also socialize every litter with adult rats to make any transitions into established groups of rats easier. Our rat breeding is more of a hobby at this time, and we've only been breeding since February of 2016. I do not claim to be an expert, and my rats have no pedigree and none of the litters are seen by a vet before adoption. Our goal is to simply provide sweet tempered pets you will be happy to love for their whole life.

Forgot to give everyone the heads up, but I’m away at Disneyland for a couple days. One of my super sweet adopters gifted my husband and I passes! This is our first time at Disneyland alone together, and our first vacation alone in over 20 years. I’m beyond excited and overjoyed to be here! Having so much fun!❤️

I’ll be announcing a new sale for all remaining rattos when I get back. The sale will be for any day in October and any rat is $100. I may have a sale for larger groups too, haven’t decided.

If you’d like to take advantage of the sale, you can apply now and I’ll check applications after Wednesday when I get back.

This is what Beige Standard looks like.
This ratto has standard ears, coat, and size. The beige coloring is a pale, slightly yellow beige color. When they also have mink they will look much warmer yellow in color and I generally call them “honey beige”, which is not a real thing but helps me track those with mink. If they have Russian blue, they are a cooler shade that appears more gray with no warmth to the tone, and I label them as Russian blue beige or sometimes just “blue beige” because I don’t have American blue to mix them up with.

There are a lot of blonde colors for rats, though. The gene can mix with many other genes and create new shades all the time. It can be hard to tell them apart as babies and the overall adult coloring may be different from baby color.

My husband's newest class is this weekend. I'll be meeting for rats near home and he will be teaching bleeding control (such a good class!) The info is below for anyone interested, but he teaches multiple types of classes and even books private groups if you have an organization that needs certifications for CPR or First aid type stuff. I'm really not 100% savvy on everything he does or knows, except that he has been able to render aid in a LOT of random medical emergency type situations over the years. My husband is on it in medical emergency situations and I admire his calm and professionalism when he's helping. When I broke my shoulder - Lord love all the people there, but it wasn't until my husband was on scene that I really felt like I was going to be ok. He dead lifted me without hurting me at all and got me to the hospital pain free. The original people (other leaders and an EMT) caused a lot of pain in just getting me to a sitting up position. Bryan is phenomenally good at what he does and can teach both youth and adult students. You will learn a LOT in any class he teaches and he takes time to make sure that you understand concepts, gives personal examples on many items, and ensures everyone is able to pass the ending tests for certifications. I know I'm totally biased, but he really is the best I've ever seen and I've taken a lot of first aid courses over the years for scouts, youth ministry & volunteer work, and to be a babysitter. He genuinely cares about equipping others to be ready to help in case of emergency.

CLASS INFO (Click link to sign up):

Hey All -
So I have updated the page with a YouTube channel... Possibly a good idea, possibly the worst idea ever - let's find out!

I'm not very photogenic, so videos are not going to be very great if I'm in them, but I'll be using the page to update on rats and creating lists for each month of babies available to keep everyone updated somewhere that EVERYONE can see, instead of only on social media.

Here's a link:
https://www.youtube.com/

I hope you'll like or subscribe or whatever it is we do on YouTube.
I am figuring this out as I go. 😅 The October litters are posting there as the first round (plus the last of the girls from September).

*SIDE NOTE* I'm updating the website with more dates and we have a sale day this coming Sunday available. I won't be available Saturday because I'll be out of town at a wedding, but I opened up Sunday instead. I'm also going to be out of town on Sunday 10/18-Tuesday 10/20.

Information to help out our adopters in a place everyone can view instead of on social media where you have to log in. Squeakin' Pups is a home based rattery in the San Diego county of California, USA. We have been breeding and providing quality PET rats for over 10 years. Our focus is primarily on....

This is SQKN-Copper who was bred here at the rattery from our "Odd-eye" line. Mauve is a color that happens fairly consistently with the Odd-eye line and it is basically Mink with the odd-eye gene present, which affects the colors pretty consistently, but the mink is my favorite. He is a dusty rose pinkish brown - it is hard to explain and the video does not do it justice. He's amazingly pretty to me and pink rats are my favorite (he honestly does look way more pink to me than brown in person). He has the odd-eye gene to where both his eyes are pink when they should be black. I love the gene I've got because it has some interesting and unique effects on both coat and eyes.

I will be making a trip to Yuma, AZ with some of Copper's babies if anyone is in AZ and would like to meet. It's pretty hard to get trips together for AZ because my fanbase is mostly SoCal, but I've got one adopter out there already and if I get at least one or two more the trip will be fully funded. I've over a dozen of each gender to choose from with all litters and there will be two or three more available by the 17th.

PM if interested in the trip, or if you just want to know more about our rats!
