East County Animal Rescue ECAR TNR (trap-neuter-return)-foster-based cat rescue Trap Neuter Return (TNR): Spaying and Neutering feral cats is one of our primary activities.
(238)

We work with residents of the community who are experiencing over population issues in their area. We provide this service free of charge but we do love donations! Helping the Public Spay/Neuter Their Pets: We help pet owners get their pets spayed and neutered. This involves any and all activities involved in spaying and neutering pets - connecting to resources, providing resources, transportation

to/from vet for pet owners who wouldn't otherwise have a way to get their animals to the vet for spay/neuter surgery. Providing Medical Care: We take many animals into our rescue that are in dire need of medical care including those animals who would otherwise be euthanized by shelters because of their illnesses. Through donations from the public, and our ability to separate ill animals into foster homes, we are able to provide these animals with the care that they need to get back on their feet! Adoptions: We work to find loving homes for adoptable animals.

Meet Gunnar!

This cute guy was brought into Feral Cat Coalition to be TNR'd with his 2 siblings. Once at the clinic, Feral Cat Coalition discovered that they were sweet kittens that needed a chance at getting a home so they reached out to see if we could take them in and we agreed. Once in our custody, we noticed Gunnar had a really bad ear infection that we could not clear up. Finally, after seeing 3 different veterinarians, including two specialists, it was discovered that he had a polyp deep in his middle ear. The only way to successfully remove this polyp is to do a procedure called Ventral Bulla Osteotomy.
This route should guarantee that the polyp does not return unless it is a cancerous mass.
Most likely not cancerous given his age, but the vet wants to send the polyp out for biopsy once removed to confirm. The surgery today will cost us between $7,114-$8,163. We have been hit with many expensive medical cases lately and would appreciate any help our supporters can give!! Can you help us help Gunnar??

TODAY IS SURGERY DAY!
By now many of you are familiar with our beloved foster kitten, Lady. She was rescued on the day she was born 4/30/2025, wheezing and struggling to breathe. It turned out this tenacious kitten had a severe cleft palate and a strong will to live. Since that day 7 months ago it has taken a village to get her to what we are hoping is the finish line today: her cleft palate repair surgery. To get her to this monumental day she has endured:

1,065 tube feedings (by hand)
20 rounds of antibiotics (at least)
8 teeth removed to make room for cleft repair to the tune of $3,544
5 ER trips
4 flights to and from UC Davis
4 surgeries
2 weeks in hotels
Countless hours of research, sleepless nights, dedication and love from her foster.

Her final surgery (hopefully) is going to be $5,000, making the total cost for her specialized surgeries at UC Davis alone $8,500. We can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Lady said it’s so close “she can almost taste it” 😏. Please help us raise money for her final surgery! We promise to post her “First Meal” for you all to enjoy 😛
