Sand and Spur Riding Club Info Page Providing a safe environment for boarding privately owned horses on Eglin AFB, FL. Memorial Trail runs in front of the BX and Commissary.

Membership is by application and is open to active duty military, retired military, reserve military, dependents, and civilian contractors. Sand & Spur is surrounded by acres of wooded trails, a lake, and Choctawhatchee Bay. The facility features a club house with a small kitchen, two bathrooms (for colts and fillies), 62 permanent barns with tack rooms and paddocks, and 4 quarantine stalls. We ha

ve a dressage ring, a multi purpose arena, a jumping arena, a farrier shed, three round pens, a turn out arena, trailer parking, and a community wash rack. Sand & Spur is located on the south side of the road, Memorial Trail, and is east of the Commissary and BX.

Meet the Members!

"Hi! I’m Erika, and my husband is Rhett. We’ve got two geldings here at Sand and Spurs. The first is Queue, my 3 year old black and white paint cross, and the second is Wildcat, a 14 year old off the track Standardbred.

Both of the boys are super sweet, easygoing, love everyone, and everything. Just a heads-up though, Queue sometimes sleeps flat out with his legs stiff and straight out 😅. It can look a little scary the first time you see it, but it’s totally normal for him.

We also have two other horses you’ll probably hear us talk about my paint mare Toast and Rhett’s draft cross, Tex. They’re both currently out on lease, but we’re hoping to have them at Sand and Spurs once their leases are over"

Meet Bre and her boys: Casper and Neptune 💕
"Casper is a year and a half old Tennessee walker and he enjoys alfalfa and neck scratches and very much dislikes my shadow or sneezing. I am in school with a year left to get my get LCSW to practice equine therapy and I plan to train my yearling to the be horse I do my therapy sessions with. Neptune is my old man. He's my babysitter."

"Hello, my name is Taylor Jao! I just moved from Colorado with my husband and horse, Tess. Tess is a 8 year old quarter horse mare. I got Tess about 7 years ago as an unhandled yearling and she picked up on all the training quickly and easily. She is very smart and so sweet. Now we show in ranch riding and love our time spent together!"
