National Wildlife Day is a reminder to respect the animals that share our outdoor spaces. While wildlife can be fascinating, it’s important to keep pets at a safe distance from unfamiliar animals.

Keeping pets leashed, supervised, and away from wildlife helps protect both pets and local ecosystems.

September is Animal Pain Awareness Month, making it a good time to remind pet owners that animals can show discomfort in subtle ways. Changes in movement, appetite, mood, or behavior may be signs that something is wrong.

Paying attention to small changes can help pets get the care they need and support their comfort and quality of life.

📢Hello Pet Wellness Center friends!

We wanted to provide a quick “heads up” that our software is currently down 😭 This software is how we access records, fill medications, take payments, etc. We are actively working with the software provider to get the issue resolved as quickly as possible. We will do our best to work through this but it may delay appointment times and callbacks today. Thank you all for your understanding and we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. ❤️

🦮💙 Happy International Assistance Dog Day!

Today we celebrate the incredible dogs who help people live safer, more independent, and more fulfilling lives every single day.

Assistance dogs do far more than guide individuals with visual impairments. They may also:
🐾 Alert to seizures or changes in blood sugar.
🐾 Assist individuals with mobility challenges.
🐾 Retrieve dropped items or open doors.
🐾 Provide support to veterans and others living with disabilities.
🐾 Help their handlers safely navigate everyday life.

These amazing dogs spend years learning specialized skills, and when they’re working, they’re focused on keeping their handler safe.

❤️ A friendly reminder:
If you see an assistance dog in public, admire them from a distance. Please don’t pet, call to, or distract a working dog without first asking the handler. Even a brief distraction can interfere with an important task.

Today, let’s thank the remarkable dogs—and the dedicated trainers and handlers—who make such a meaningful difference every day.

Have you ever met an assistance dog? Share your experience or give a ❤️ below to help us celebrate these incredible canine partners!

🦴 It’s Give a Dog a Bone Week! 🐶❤️

Our dogs do so much for us—they make us laugh, keep us active, comfort us on tough days, and love us unconditionally. This week is the perfect excuse to spoil them a little!

Before you grab just any bone, remember that not all bones are safe for dogs.

🐾 Here are a few bone safety tips:
• Choose a size that’s appropriate for your dog’s mouth.
• Avoid cooked bones—they can splinter and cause serious injuries.
• Supervise your dog while they’re chewing.
• If a bone becomes small enough to swallow or starts splintering, it’s time to throw it away.
• If your dog is an aggressive chewer, ask your veterinarian what the safest chew options are.

Sometimes the best “bone” isn’t a bone at all! Durable veterinary-approved chew toys, dental chews, and enrichment toys can be great alternatives that help keep your dog’s mind engaged and teeth healthier.

Tell us in the comments… 🐕
What’s your dog’s favorite chew or treat? We’d love to see a photo too! 📸❤️
