It is with an extremely heavy heart that I have to write this post, but I need to let everyone know that we have closed our doors.
This was not a decision that I made lightly; I’ve been struggling with it and fighting myself on it for awhile now. There are many factors that went into this decision, including but not limited to: having such a rough time trying to re-build from scratch after the fire that damaged everything we had at the rescue, being a single mom to three young children who need more of me than I was able to give them while also running the rescue, trouble getting a consistent group of volunteers who were willing to put in the excessive amount of work that it takes to keep a place like this clean and healthy (as a non-profit, we don’t have the funds to pay employees), not to mention all of the difficulties that came along with Covid the last couple years.
That being said, while I am incredibly sad to do this, I’m equally proud of all we have accomplished in the five years we’ve been here. We rescued and adopted out 4,162 cats, we gave people young and old the opportunity to come to a welcoming place to cuddle with kitties, we hosted birthday parties and movie nights, and brought smiles to thousands of faces. We couldn’t have done any of it without your support, and for that we are forever grateful.
Animal rescue is my life-long passion and I very much hope to re-open someday in the future, in some capacity, whether it be a full-blown cat cafe or a place that focuses solely on rescue. Thank you again for all the donations, adoptions, and love along our journey.
We’d love to see photos of any and all kitties who have been adopted from us, please share in the comments 💗
