Hot Gurl Summer is gearing up for another summer of competition! Since competing at the in 2022, this red mare has moved up the ranks to Second Level alongside her owner/trainer, Leigh Beamer Moller. The pair is pictured here performing their Dolly Parton-themed freestyle at the April 2026 Tryon Spring Dressage show.

Hot Gurl Summer (Jimmy Creed – Forest Glitter) is a 2018 mare bred by Irish Hill Century Farm in New York. Beamer Moller purchased her directly from her track connections.

What the Thoroughbred Makeover looks like in our dreams. 💭🌈

If you’re dreaming of attending the 2026 Thoroughbred Makeover but still need a partner, consider the ASPCA Right Horse Scholarship program!

Designed to encourage adoption from ASPCA Right Horse partner organizations, the scholarship helps offset the cost of competing by covering one stall and first discipline fee (a minimum value of $405 per horse) for up to 50 eligible horses at the 2026 Thoroughbred Makeover.

There's still time to get involved. Haven't applied for the Makeover yet? Act fast! Trainer applications close next Friday, June 26. Accepted trainers have until July 28 to register their horses, meaning you have over a month to acquire your scholarship eligible partner.

Should someone tell The Little Sprout that the jump is down there? ✈️

Since he and his trainer Josie Frickman competed at the in 2023, they have found their stride in the eventing world. This shot is from the 2026 Morven Park Spring Horse Trials (Leesburg, VA), where they finished 2nd in the Senior Training Rider division. The pair competed in Dressage at the 2023 Makeover.

The Little Sprout (Well Spelled – Bank Scholarship) is a 2019 gelding bred in Pennsylvania by Godstone Farm LLC. He had 13 starts before transitioning away from the track in March 2023. His total career earnings amount to $28,941. Frickman purchased The Little Sprout from a reseller.

We know our Thoroughbred Makeover graduates continue to do great things. We're willing to bet you do, too.

Nominations are now open for the 2026 Bill Kraatz Thoroughbred Makeover Ambassador Award, recognizing a Makeover graduate that exemplifies the athleticism, versatility, and trainability of the Thoroughbred beyond racing.

Whether they're excelling in competition, introducing new riders to the breed, or simply changing minds about what Thoroughbreds can do, we want to hear their story.
