Firework season is right around the corner! 🇺🇸 Whether your dog loves the excitement or prefers a quieter evening, now is a great time to consider things like:

🐾 Making sure collars, ID tags, and microchip information are current (have you moved? changed numbers?)
🐾 Exercising earlier in the day before festivities begin
🐾 Coordinating with your vet *now* if your dog has a history of anxiety and may need a refill (the holiday is a Saturday when most vets are unavailable)
🐾 Designating a safe space indoors (crate, bedroom, basement, etc.)
🐾 Closing windows, curtains, and blinds to reduce noise and visual stimulation
🐾 Using white noise, fans, TV, music. etc. to help mask fireworks
🐾 NOT bringing anxious pets to firework events- Asking ourselves "Is this something they're enjoying? Or something I want them to enjoy?"

A little thought or planning now can make the holiday much less stressful for you and your dog. Take a beat to ensure it's enjoyable for your entire family! 💕🇺🇸

Here's our official reminder to protect your pups this summer! 🥵 We've seen countless stories already this year of puppies and dogs losing their lives from overheating. PLEASE consider whether it's appropriate to have them outside!

⚠️ It does not have to feel "hot" for it to be too hot for them! It doesn't have to be sunny, it doesn't have to be a long period of time.

Temps vary by surface and fluctuate throughout the day, so it's important to be cognizant for our dogs' safety and to help them beat the heat. Shade and short outings are our friends! ✨

✨ Brachycephalic breeds have an even lower tolerance for extreme temps! ✨
