These beautiful eggs from Little Timber Roost just arrived, complete with gorgeous pink blooms, dark speckles and all! 😍

Earlier this Spring I had ordered her Welbars, a rare breed created by the same breeder as the Legbars and others. They lay a medium/darker brown sometimes speckled egg, and are sexable at hatch just like Legbars. As it turns out, she lost her rooster, and Mr Replacement just wasn't big enough for the job quite yet. So... she offered me a replacement breed that wasn't going to be available until next year, but she was making an exception 🥰

With everything that's been coming together in my multi-gen Olive Egger pen this year, with my beautiful Blue Silver Wheaten Olive Egger roo from Hollyoaks, making such gorgeous silver and Wheaten babies, I thought it would be perfect to add the breed she was so generously offering --- Blue Wheaten Marans! 🤎

These little Teal Eggers are so cute! They are a black marsbar x splash Legbar for 100% barred blue-based chicks -- but look at these dark blue ones, it looks like they're also wild-type, with those little chipmunk stripes on their backs! 🤩 I wonder what these are going to look like!

As a side note - any solid blue or black that hatch like this and have a head dot will be barred boys; girls will be totally solid without a dot. For the wild-type, males are silver based and females gold based, but I haven't figured out sexing them at hatch yet! 😅

Mosaic's Flora Belle is available - she's 3 months old, born March 10th and is a 5th gen Mini Nubian. Here are pics of her as a new kid and then now, and pics of her dam and sire. We aquired her dam, Tessa, last Fall after she was bred to Sid.
