Oopsie! We went into a newly split hive to try to get a queen cup for another split and it turns out we were a couple of days too late. One of the queens had already emerged and destroyed the other queen cups. And then…..there she was! Our new Queen MayBee! She is smaller than a mated queen and moves faster. Now let’s hope she has a successful mating flight in the next couple of weeks. I guess you could call it serendipibee = a fortunate accident where you get some great bee pics.

If you haven’t seen it - The Secrets of the Bees National Geographic documentary is excellent. I only said “hmmm - not really” once or twice. 😉🐝❤️
