Jelly and Supa stay so clean. My OCD is finally happy. Couldn't do turf in fear it would stink, and couldn't do gravel in fear it would be too rough on them. Kinda had to evaluate our area and see what would be most suitable ♥️ Clean chips for our clients and myself

I consider Lesli a mentor. She put me on to this list of Non-Negotiables when I first started raising dogs for Working Dogs Oregon.

It launched me so hard into real working dog life. I hit a corner going 90 mph in my training career, haha! I wasn't the type to use a muzzle outside of needing it, pottying on leash didn't seem like a big deal. Until I tried to do it!

There are a couple therapy dog steps in here, like laying for petting. I just select what applies to the dog in front of me and rock it.

I integrate these into every dog's routine - even my customers - as much as they will allow.

Once you see how integrating these practices into daily life effect your dog and their performance, you just don't go back to doing what you did before!

These Non-Negotiables work. It's a proven list and would not be active in my program if it weren't for Lesli taking the time to train me on each one. ♥️

Neutral K9 Training Discussions

Tether training to create neutrality with Cullen of Working Dogs Oregon (future law enforcement k9!)

When you are out in public, hold your dog to a standard! This brings clarity with expectations. Here are a few prerequisites I live by:

👉 No nose to nose greetings with people or other dogs

👉 Leash is only long enough for dog to comfortably sit or down without coming into uninvited contact with strangers

👉 Hands are in a fixed position. No slacking the lead or making room for mistakes. This is the whole point of tethering; it is a fixed leash to you or tied to an object. This place has tons of tether points which was awesome!

👉 Bad behaviors are nagged on; eating things off the ground, barking at others, becoming a nuisance on lead. All of that is corrected.

As always; bring p**p bags and water.
Red Dogg brought us some water even though we had some. They get a 5 star review! Get out there and enrich your dogs!

Knox did a four week program as a baby for resource guarding; among that he pulled on a lead and was a naughty guy for nail trims!

Here is Knox today using his platform. While he still has his moments (if you let him), he's been resolved of the resource guarding and nail trim negatives!
