Healing Hearts & Horses Inc HHH is a Georgia based 501c3 nonprofit that rescues horses from slaughter pens across the US. HHH rescues horses from slaughter houses/kill pens. .

After rehabilitation, our horses are shared with groups including veterans, first responders, special needs children and foster children for special events. We adopt horses of various types, ages and varying levels of health. We rehabilitate the horses and invite groups to our farm for weekend events to meet the horses, take trail rides, groom the horses, etc. Our retreats focus on veterans, first responders, at-risk youth, special needs children and children in foster care.

Cowboy is settling in - he is very head shy to the point that we couldn’t put a halter on him. We’ve been working slowly and today was much better. This is rescue - patience and persistence. We really love him and can’t wait to see him blossom even more…still won’t take treats yet.

Chance and Barron are both sanctuary horses. The cold weather has them feeling spicy, especially for Barron who has DSLD - that lope and kick means he’s feeling good!

Just wanted to keep everyone updated on Copper Penny. She started coughing and had more nasal discharge so we called the vet for an emergency visit. Her lungs are clear, thank goodness - but she’s back in quarantine and on stronger antibiotics. She’s going to need a little longer to get strong and join the herd.

This wonderful gentleman hadn’t been on a horse since high school. He just turned 80 and said “let’s go”. Guinness took great care of him! Never too old!

He has fresh water in the barn, but he likes to drink from the troughs. Maybe he likes his reflection or thinks he is a horse?! Fred is so much fun!
