It hit me last night that since getting my embroidery machine I haven’t made anything for myself 🤦🏻‍♀️

Here’s a little work in progress of what 6 hours of digitizing got me to. I’ve been wanting to offer embroidered portraits for a long time but it is insanely time consuming especially with not using AI but that’s what makes it so much more special in my opinion. I take your pets photo, add it to the software and draw the stitches right on top 😊

The real question is, are embroidered pet portraits something you would like to see added to the shop? 🤔

WHAT A MONTH 😮‍💨

There was a lot of testing, learning, making things I loved, making things that absolutely did not work, getting ready for the market…and then unfortunately my mental health tanking and not making it there at all.

I was pretty disappointed after spending so much of the month preparing for it. But looking back through my camera roll tonight reminded me that the month wasn’t a waste just because it didn’t end the way I planned.

I tried appliqué for the first time. I experimented with new embroidery styles. I made way too many test stitches. I made things that never even made it online. I learned a LOT.

So here’s a little peek at the very unpolished BTS of September — custom orders, unfinished projects, experiments, things I loved, things that got abandoned, and a whole lot of figuring it out as I go.

Maybe October will be the month I actually get some of these things out of my camera roll and into the shop. 😂

After almost 6 years of putting it off… it’s official.
Canine Coast is now Canine Coast, LLC.

This might look like a tiny milestone from the outside, but it feels HUGE to me. For years, I’ve struggled with feeling like an imposter calling myself a business owner. I’ve second-guessed myself, started over more times than I can count, wondered if I was actually capable of making this work, and kept telling myself I’d make it “official” someday.

So thank you thank you thank you to everyone who has supported me over the last 6 years! I know it sounds corny but i literally wouldn’t be here without you! 🫶🏻

If you need to find me I will be buried under all of this Halloween fabric and learning how to use my new hoop master 😎

The cinnamon roll orders are rolling in right on schedule 🤎
I’m taking a break from dog posting today to show some appreciation to one of my customer favorites. I don’t know what it is about fall and the smell of cinnamon rolls baking in the oven but it’s such a cozy mood 😌

A little behind the scenes of what most nights look like around here 🧵

Embroidery machine running, another design being digitized on the computer, and usually about 12 other ideas floating around in my head at the same time 😂

There’s so much that goes into each design before you ever see the finished product — drawing, digitizing, test stitching, tweaking, and sometimes starting all over again.

But watching an idea on my screen slowly turn into something I can actually hold is so rewarding. It’s just me and my single needle against the world 😂
