A New Jersey man spends his nights flying drones to help find missing pets.

His name is Michael Parziale.

He uses thermal-imaging drones that can detect body heat in darkness, making it easier to spot animals hiding in woods, fields and other hard-to-search areas.

Over time, his team has helped reunite more than 120 lost animals with their families.

Some searches take hours.

Others are incredibly fast.

One missing dog was reportedly found in just six minutes.

Another was located after being gone for more than a day.

Parziale started the U.S.A.R. Drone Team to use technology for something simple.

Getting people’s pets back home.

For families who have no idea where their animal has gone, that little glowing shape on a thermal camera can mean everything.

At 134 years old, Goliath the Galápagos tortoise became a father for the first time when one of eight eggs hatched at Zoo Miami in June 2025.

The tiny arrival also made history as the first Galápagos tortoise ever successfully hatched at the zoo.

Just over a week later, Goliath was photographed meeting his first offspring, creating a pretty remarkable moment for a first-time dad well over a century old.

Missing Man Saved After Wild Horses Drag Him Past Trail Camera

A man reported missing during a severe winter storm was found alive after a remote trail camera captured several wild horses moving him through the snow. Search crews reviewing cameras in the area spotted one horse pulling the unconscious man by the strap of his backpack while others followed close behind. Rescuers used the location and tracks in the snow to find him hours later in a sheltered area, where several horses had bedded down around him and protected him from the wind. He was severely hypothermic but still alive when crews pulled him from the middle of the herd.

The rescue happened last winter, but the footage is being widely shared again as colder weather approaches. Researchers have long known that horses are extremely intelligent and highly social, and they believe the herd recognized that the man was in distress. By moving him away from the exposed trail and remaining beside him through the storm, the horses may have given rescuers the extra time they needed to reach him. “If those horses hadn’t moved him and stayed there,” one rescuer later said, “we would have found him too late.”

Wildlife Center Releases Statement After Bear Saves Two Injured Animals

Wildlife officials were left amazed after security cameras captured the same black bear bringing two injured animals to a wildlife center on separate occasions. The first time, the bear appeared at a rear entrance carrying a wounded raccoon and gently left it beside the door before disappearing into the woods. Staff initially believed it was a bizarre one-time event, but several weeks later, a bear was recorded approaching a side entrance with an injured fox. Both animals were found alive and received treatment.

While comparing the recordings, workers noticed that both bears had the same unusual white mark on their chest. Hoping to identify it, they searched old photographs and records of bears previously documented in the area. That was when the mystery finally came together. Years earlier, the same bear had been rescued, treated at that very wildlife center and eventually released back into the wild. Officials now believe the bear remembered where it had once been helped and returned because it somehow understood that injured animals would be safe there. “At this point, we’re just waiting for it to show up with a deer and ask for a reservation,” one worker joked.
