I wanted to update everyone. I have put my notice in with petsmart. My last day will be November 8th. I will still be taking my vacation. I have plenty of opening till then. I also have openings November 5th-8th. Unfortunately the only information I can give is I'm still grooming. I'm sad for my time at petsmart to be over but excited to see what the future holds!

How about a new helpful hint Tuesday!
This one is on how to make your dog more comfortable coming to the groomers!

1. Come in with confidence! If you're nervous, your dog will be nervous. If you make a big deal of being there, your dog will wonder what are we scared or nervous about. Most dogs are perfectly fine after their owner leaves. If they start to get anxious don't make a big deal over it.

2. Stick with the same groomer if you can. Dogs like routine. So sticking with the same groomer will not only help your dog get more comfortable with everything going on. But it will help the
groomer get use to the dog!

3. Bring them in often. I hear alot of people saying they don't come in as much because their dog does not like it. The more you bring them in the more they get use to it. Even if it's just to say hi.

4. Listen to your groomers advice! We do this for a living and we want what's best for your dog.

So remember find a groomer you trust. Don't be afraid to ask questions. And always have clear communication with your groomer!

The 4th is tomorrow. I know fireworks have already started. But some helpful advice!
Make sure all gate are secure.
If you have a GPS collar keep them on your dog. Or a collar with their name on them.
Make sure you watch before heading out the door so they do not dart out the door.
Try to take them out early before the fireworks start. Remember some people like to enjoy fireworks right after dinner before its dark. avoid taken them out after the fireworks start.
If they have to take them out put a leash on them.
Give them puzzles or make them work for their food. Try to make them tired for the evening.
Leave their kennel open or give them a place to hide if needed.

Let me introduce myself!
My name is Hannah. I have been a groomer since 2016. I have been involved with dogs since I was 12. I started showing in 4h with my Akita named Noah. Then I got my first border collie Star. After that, it was history I knew my purpose was dogs.
When I'm not at work grooming, I'm usually training or showing my own dogs. A lot of you may have noticed I have quite a few weekends off. These weekends I'm showing my dogs in agility mostly, but we also do dock diving, Frisbee, fastcat, and a few other things! I also have a small business Star Gazer Creations that is dog related products! You can really say my life does revolve around dogs!
