🐾✨ What a GREAT first week back! ✨🐾

The first week of September at Lucky Paws Dog Walking & Pet Sitting is officially in the books! 🐶💜 And these pups were ready to jump right back into their routines!

We had happy tails, long walks, backyard zoomies, sniffari adventures, brain games, snuffle mats, lots of belly rubs, and plenty of treats along the way! 🦴🐾

It was so good to see all my furry friends again and get back into our regular routine. Some pups were excited to see me… and some were mostly excited to see what was in the treat bag. 😂

Thank you to all of my wonderful clients for another fun week and for trusting me with your beloved pets. It means so much! 🥰

Now it’s time for a little weekend recharge before we do it all over again next week! 🐾☀️

🐾💕 Please Help Us Welcome Leia to the Lucky Paws Family! 💕🐾

We are so happy to welcome this beautiful golden girl, Leia, to Lucky Paws! 🥰🐶✨

Leia had her very first Lucky Paws visit today, and she wasted absolutely NO time showing off her adorable personality! 😂🐾 She greeted me at the door with a little paw shake — yes, you read that right… she actually offered me her paw to say hello! 🐾🤝😂 Talk about making a great first impression! She is such a sweet, personable girl, and I can already tell we’re going to have lots of fun together. 💕🐶

We started our visit with some playtime and toys, getting to know each other and having some fun together. 🧸🎾🥰 Then it was time to head out for a nice walk! 🚶‍♀️🐾 Leia got to stretch those legs, do plenty of sniffing, and check out all the important neighborhood happenings. 😂👃🐶

And of course, after all that fun, there was plenty of time for snuggles, too! 💕🥰

When the weather outside is being yucky, we’ll mix things up with a combination of walks and fun indoor enrichment activities — including snuffle mats, Sniffaris, brain games, pet-safe painting, and other fun activities to keep Leia happy, busy, and entertained! 🧠🐾🎨

We’re so happy to have Leia and her family join the Lucky Paws family! 💕🐾 Welcome, sweet girl! We’re looking forward to lots of walks, adventures, enrichment, silly moments, and of course… ALL the snuggles! 🥰🐶💗

🐾🧠 Something NEW is coming to Lucky Paws! 🧠🐾

I’m excited to start incorporating Dognition into my visits with my Lucky Paws clients! 🎉

So… what is Dognition?

It’s a fun, science-based way to discover how your dog thinks, learns, solves problems, communicates, and sees the world around them. Every dog has their own unique way of approaching a challenge, and Dognition gives us a fun way to explore those individual strengths! 🐶💡

During these enrichment sessions, we may work on things like:

🐾 Problem-solving games — figuring out how to get a treat or toy
🐾 Memory games — can they remember where something was hidden?
🐾 Communication games — learning how your dog communicates with us
🐾 Impulse-control challenges — can they wait patiently for the reward?
🐾 Choice-based games — seeing what strategies they naturally choose
🐾 Nose work & scent games — using that amazing canine brain and nose! 👃🐕
🐾 Puzzle & enrichment activities — keeping those minds busy and engaged

And of course, this doesn’t replace our walks! 🚶‍♀️🐕

Think of it as another tool in the Lucky Paws enrichment toolbox. We can combine a walk with some brain work, or on those really cold, snowy, rainy, or just downright miserable New England days ❄️🌧️🥶, we can bring the enrichment indoors and give those brains a workout instead!

Because a tired dog isn’t always just a dog who’s physically tired… sometimes a mentally satisfied dog is the happiest dog! ❤️🐾

I’m really looking forward to learning more about each dog’s unique thinking style and finding activities that make them say:

“Wait… WHERE DID THAT TREAT GO?!” 😂🐶

🐾 FUN FACT FRIDAY! 🐾

Ever wonder why your dog does that little spin-spin-spin before finally settling down? 🌀🐶

There are actually a few reasons!

🌿 It’s an old instinct. Wild dogs would circle an area before lying down to make sure it was safe and comfortable.

🛏️ They’re making their spot comfy. That little circling routine may have helped flatten grass, leaves, or other surfaces before settling in.

👀 It can be a quick safety check. Dogs may naturally look around their surroundings before relaxing.

And sometimes… they’re just being dogs. 😂🐾

So the next time your pup does three circles, a little sniff, and then dramatically flops down…

Just know they’re following a routine that goes way, way back! 💕

We’re always looking for fun and meaningful ways to show our appreciation for the wonderful families who trust Lucky Paws Dog Walking & Pet Sitting with their beloved pets. ❤️

So, we’re excited to try something new!

🐾✨ Complimentary Pet Portraits! ✨🐾

Cailee, who helps me with Lucky Paws visits and is currently studying photography, film, AV and videography, has been having so much fun capturing beautiful photos of our Lucky Paws pets. 📸

We thought, why not turn that into something special for our clients?

During your pet’s regularly scheduled Lucky Paws visit, Cailee will bring her camera along and capture a variety of fun, natural moments — whether your pet is playing, exploring, enjoying enrichment, relaxing, or simply showing off their personality. 🥰

And we want to give you something you can actually hold onto and display, not just another photo sitting in your phone!

🖼️ Each participating Lucky Paws family will receive ONE complimentary glossy 8×10 portrait of their pet! ❤️

Cailee will select a favorite portrait from the visit, have it professionally printed, and we’ll personally give it to you as a special gift from Lucky Paws.

🎥 And there’s more!

As Cailee continues developing her photography, film and videography skills, she’ll also be capturing some fun video moments during our visits. We’re hoping to eventually put together some Lucky Paws promotional videos featuring the wonderful pets we get to care for every day!

Of course, we will always ask for your permission before using your pet’s photos or videos for Lucky Paws social media or promotional purposes. ❤️

This is simply our way of saying thank you for allowing us to be part of your pets’ lives.
