Equine Connection 406 is a place where children & troubled youth and those with mental health issues can connect with a horse. This can help a person learn to self regulate emotions by doing something as simple as grooming a horse! The benefits to connecting a person with a horse are endless. Interactions with horses including grooming, leading and petting are proven to relieve stress. This program aims to affect the emotional welfare & social capabilities of youth and those with mental health issues in our area. Benefits of working with horses include an increase in confidence, increase in ability to communicate, improved self esteem, and leads to more constructive decision making or behavior.
