We stopped by the Regional Animal Shelter of Madison CT Animal Control and Clinton Ct Animal Control to deliver over 100lbs of dog food, 10lbs of dog treats, over 60 cans of dog food, and 4 tough chew toys 🐾

National Adopt a Pet Day is held annually on April 30th. It was created to raise awareness of all the pets still waiting for their forever homes in shelters and to show people what adopted pets can bring into people’s lives. The holiday is celebrated in April since the spring is when many dogs and cats (often received as Christmas gifts) are dumped at shelters.

According to the ASPCA, around 6.3 million animals enter American shelters annually. Of these, about 3.1 million are dogs, and 3.2 million are cats.

There are several ways you can observe National Adopt a Shelter Pet Day:
🐾Adopt a pet!
🐾Share your story of your adopted pet(s) and encourage others to support their local rescue/shelter.
🐾Spay or neuter your pets. Do your part in reducing how many animals enter shelters by spaying or neutering your pets.
🐾Make a donation to a local shelter. You can also browse one of our wishlists and we will deliver to shelters in need: https://linktr.ee/presentsforpaws501c
🐾Volunteer. Animal shelters rely on volunteers to help out around the facility, so spend the day playing and socializing with some adorable animals.
