It has come to our attention that people are posting links for Tshirt sales, and tagging our supporters. THESE ARE NOT LEGITIMATE sources for Rescue merchandise, and it does NOT benefit the Rescue!

We truly appreciate all the people who read our posts, share the posts and support our Rescue. It appears that we have 11k eyes on our page at different times- that is AMAZING! Please know that if we sell merchandise to benefit the Rescue, we will post here, directly and not in a message on an old post tagging individuals. It is a shame when anyone, including Non Profits have to talk about scams- but we wanted to let you know.

A 7 yr old, 120lb Great Pyrenees named Baxter came into a shelter, and Change A Life Dog Rescue took him in. Baxter is in Ga right now- safe, in a local Foster home. He is scheduled to come to CT next Saturday. Can you CHANGE A LIFE by Fostering this dog friendly, easy going Senior who just wants to lay by your side? WE HAVE A FOSTER!

WE NEED FOSTERS!!!!!

A Rescue cannot help a dog if there is no Foster home for the dog to be placed. Our Rescue has a wonderful “Gentle Giant” of a dog looking for a soft place to land. He is appropriately named Goliath- a Male Mastiff age 2, weighing 104lbs…a big baby. Goliath is GREAT on leash, GREAT with other dogs, CAT FRIENDLY, housebroken and crate trained. Goliath is such a great dog! We are looking for a Foster or Forever home for the big guy, can YOU help? If you want to Foster and you live in CT email [email protected] and submit an application. Change A Life Dog Rescue needs your help to save three incredible dogs who were just moments away from losing their lives.

When we learned that several dogs in a rural Georgia shelter were facing euthanasia, we knew we couldn’t turn away. Thanks to our rescue partners and supporters, three boys are now SAFE and receiving care at a veterinary boarding facility in Georgia:

🐾 Kanan – 6-year-old Belgian Malinois
🐾 Kilo – 2-year-old Husky
🐾 Mojo – 2-year-old Great Pyrenees/Anatolian Shepherd mix

But rescue is only the beginning.

Two of these dogs have already tested positive for heartworm disease, and we are still awaiting results for the third. They will need medical treatment, vaccinations, transport, food, boarding, and eventually loving foster and forever homes.

Today, we are launching a fundraising goal of $750 to help cover their immediate medical and rescue expenses.

Every donation — no matter the size — directly changes the life of a dog who was only 30 minutes away from euthanasia.

So… we did a thing. We were told that some lovely dogs were sitting in a rural shelter and facing euthanasia. This is not a subject we like to talk about, but sadly it is a reality in Rescue. We decided to take these dogs, 3 Male dogs from Georgia: a 6 yr old Malinois, a 2 yr old Husky and a 2 yr old Great Pyrenees/Anatolian mix. They are all safe in a Vet boarding facility in Georgia, that is wonderful news! Two of the 3 dogs we took in are Heartworm positive (we are still waiting to hear the status of the 3rd dog. This is also a reality in Rescue- there are costs associated with helping dogs…we need YOUR help!

We are looking to Change the lives of Kanan the Malinois, Kilo the Husky and Mojo the Pyrenees mix. Would you help us help them on their journey from shelter life, 30 minutes from being euthanized, to Vet care, Foster homes and Forever homes? Every bit helps and we would be so appreciative of your supports. Look into the faces of the dogs you save and know you did a great thing. Thank you!!!!

Adopted!

Varsity had an applicant, but she just pulled out- this great pup is still available, let’s chat!

Change A Life Dog Rescue would like to tap into your sense of nostalgia. Picture it, 1997, you turn on the TV to see a movie trailer for a Golden Retriever playing basketball. That’s right, Air Bud!!!!

We have our own version of Air Bud- Varsity, the Golden mix with the mesmerizing hazel eyes. Varsity loves basketball, running in a fenced area or leash walks, other dogs, people and we even think he is ok with cats (we did a cat test, he seemed to be afraid of them so we would need to do a walk through. Varsity is listed as 7yrs old, but we think he might be about 5yrs old. Varsity is completely housebroken, good on a leash, he can be crated, he is not destructive and he would be a great companion to watch the NBA playoff (GO KNICKS) or the ongoing WNBA season (Go CT SUN). Regardless of the team you back, you get to love this sweet pup from Georgia who was abandoned. His Southern and Northern Fosters adore him and say “he is THE best dog”. You can meet him and say the same.

WE STILL NEED FOSTERS!!!! We cannot help dogs without Fosters, please consider taking a dog into your home to help save a life!

Hello CALDR fans,

Today is NATIONAL RESCUE DOG DAY, and to celebrate we want to give YOU an opportunity to help a Rescue dog and set them up on their journey to a Forever home!

We have 2 dogs looking for Fosters- Goliath and Rex, both boys are in TX and are looking for a CT Foster so they can get on the transport van arriving June 7th. Both dogs are vaccinated, neutered, Heartworm negative and ready to find their people. We are looking for Fosters, Foster to Adopt or Adopt off transport! We Foster in CT, and Adopt in CT RI NH VT NY NJ & MA

Goliath is appropriately named, he is a 2 yr old Mastiff that weighs 104lbs. The Southern Foster says that Goliath is crate trained, great on a leash, housebroken, DOG AND CAT friendly, very laid back…even a little lazy lol. Goliath was a stray brought in by a Good Samaritan.

Rex, Latin for King…says it all. I am speaking to all the German Shepherd lovers 😊. Rex is a former stray, he is 2 yrs old, about 70lbs and just a good boy. Rex is housebroken, good on a leash, moderately energetic and dog friendly (we do not know about cats). Another Good Samaritan took in Rex and asked our Rescue to help.

Scenes from an Adoption event- part 2

Mindy and Molly- our 7 month old, 35lb Doberman mix babies from TX! Mindy and Molly came to CT in mid March. They participated in an Easter themed photo shoot, and watched their siblings get Adopted, and 8 weeks later they are asking “when will it be our turn”?

Mindy and Molly are playful pups that live with other dogs, cats, have met children, are learning leash skills and are crate trained. Both girls are pups, so potty training is still a work in progress- but definite progress has been made. Mindy and Molly can be crated, but they do love to snuggle up with their people. Mindy and Molly are Fostered in CT and can go to an approved Adopter in CT RI NH NY NJ VT & MA- email [email protected] AND submit an application. Our dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed and on Heartworm/Flea and Tick preventatives. You get the hard copy of the records after you Adopt. Let’s find these girls their forever homes!
