C & L Stables We offer public trail rides in Goddard State Park. The park has 18 miles of scenic trails overlooking East Greenwich Bay. We have a few rides that we offer.

Welcome to C and L Stables in Goddard Park

We offer affordable horseback riding in beautiful historical Goddard State Park for the whole family. C and L Stables has been in the park going on 20 years. We pride ourselves in our beautiful easy to ride horses and our experienced, friendly trail guides. We give step by step instructions to ensure anywhere from a beginner to an advanced rider will have the safest and most enjoyable ride. We love the fact that people who ride with us always learn a little something. A $45 group ride, which is not private, anywhere from 45-50 minutes, walk only. A $65 ride which is a private ride and is anywhere from 1 hour to 1hur and 15 minutes. A Beach Ride which is $125 and is for Intermediate to advanced riders only. So, weather you have experience or not we have horses and rides available for all riding levels. We received "2010’s one of the 10 best thing to do" in the RI Monthly Magazine. We have also received - "SAFETY AWARD" from the North American Horseman Association 2004-2013 ten years in a row. Reservations are encouraged. I have known, and PREACHED this ALL my life. Finally, someone wrote an article and presented good photos.

We are big at teaching the "why" - this was too good not to share. It's the "little" things you do to help your horse that makes them happy and enjoy their time with you.
⬆️Pulling your saddle pad up into the pommel.
💪 It can can take a bit of practice with saddle shifting and pad pulling, but your horse will appreciate it.
🙁 Without being pulled up, when the saddle is cinched the pad presses down on the withers potentially causing discomfort.
😀 With the pad pulled up into the pommel the withers have room to move and there isn't a pressure point.
If you aren't already in the habit of doing this the next time you ride put your fingers between the pad and your horses withers while walking or trotting.
It's our job to make sure that they can comfortably carry us. This simple shift ⬆️ can help to make that happen.
