This is your yearly friendly reminder for those of us who are owners of nervous/frightened or fireworks terrorized dogs.

July 4th is coming!

TODAY is the day to make sure your pet has proper and updated:

ID tags, rabies tags, microchip tags, GPS tags and find my dog tags!

Reflective collars or harnesses with reflective leashes!

Make sure you have an information sheet about your dog that includes (at minimum):

A clear recent picture of your pet head on view and side view.

Name, age, size, fur color, eye color

If the dog is Friendly/Unfriendly

Will the dog go to strangers

Area lost and time

The 5th is too late!

TODAY is the day to check your stock of emergency medical supplies.... NOT July 4th!

TODAY is the day to find an emergency vet.... NOT July 4th at 11pm!

TODAY is the day to call your vet for medication... NOT July 3rd!

TODAY is the day to check perimeter fencing for possible escape routes!

TODAY is the day to check windows and doors. Garage doors, screen doors, storm doors... whatever doors! Find and fix exit points for weak, missing pieces, broken or unsafe areas!

TODAY is the day you should decide to stay home.. or go to fireworks...Not July 3rd. Boarding facilities are full for vacation already.

Don't get stuck on the 4th and enjoy the holiday!

After four years of walking alongside families through some of life’s most tender goodbyes, the time has come for Pawsitive Memories to take its final steps. We are no longer accepting new clients, and the weight of that decision has been felt deeply in my heart.

From the very beginning, this work was never just about a service—it was about love, dignity, and honoring the bond between people and their beloved companions. The countless stories shared, the tears, the thank-you notes, and the trust you placed in me will stay with me always.

We will continue to thoughtfully and lovingly care for every pet still entrusted to us, making sure their journey is completed with the same compassion and attention that has defined our work since day one.

To everyone who has been part of this journey—families, veterinarians, friends—thank you. You have given me the privilege of doing something truly meaningful, and I will forever be grateful.

If you are looking to give a warm, loving home to a senior dog, come and meet Otis, a senior Husky mix. His former owner believes Otis is about 15 years old, but he often acts like a younger dog. The vet thought Otis could be as young as 12! In any case, Otis is moderately active and has a pretty mellow disposition. He passed his physical exam with flying colors.
