It's important to remember that quality time for the littles is just being there.
Being support for their nervous system. Being a confident, stable source of comfort for them. That's how they learn confident independence and emotional stability.
Dude can get worried at times. But I've noticed every time I'm nearby, he comes right to me. Doesn't jump on me, but definitely thinks of me as his safe place. I like seeing that.
One day he's not gonna feel the need to hug up to me when he hears a funny noise or sees something he's not quite sure of. He's learning and growing, and quietly taking it all in while becoming a solid citizen that reflects the great horses he comes from.
