🐾 Pet of the Week: Meet the Bouvier des Flandres! 🐾

"Mom said our Pet of the Week is a Bouvier des Flandres. I don't know what that means, but I'm pretty sure it's French for 'giant shaggy dog who looks like he pays taxes and owns a tractor.' 🚜🐶
At first, I thought she was a small bear. Then I thought she was a walking mop. Then she wagged her tail and I realized she was actually a very nice dog underneath all that fluff.
Bouviers are known for being loyal, smart, and hardworking. Personally, if I had that much fur, I'd spend less time herding livestock and more time napping in front of the air conditioner. But that's just me.
Final verdict: 12/10. Would sniff. Would share treats. Would absolutely hide behind him during thunderstorms."

🐾 Vet Tech Tip Tuesday: Beware of Blue-Green Algae! 🐾
As the weather warms up, many dogs love cooling off in ponds, lakes, and slow-moving water. Unfortunately, some bodies of water can contain blue-green algae (cyanobacteria), which can be extremely toxic—and even fatal—to pets.
⚠️ Signs of algae poisoning may include:
• Vomiting or diarrhea
• Excessive drooling
• Weakness or stumbling
• Difficulty breathing
• Tremors or seizures
• Collapse
🐕 Protect your pup by:
✅ Keeping dogs away from water that looks green, blue-green, murky, or has surface scum
✅ Preventing pets from drinking from ponds or lakes
✅ Rinsing your dog off after swimming in natural water sources
✅ Providing fresh drinking water on outings
🚨 If you suspect your dog has been exposed to blue-green algae, seek emergency veterinary care immediately. Fast treatment can make all the difference.
A little caution can help keep summer adventures safe and fun! ☀️🐾

🌊🐾 Life’s a beach… especially when you’ve got four paws and no worries. ☀️🐶

Karma is soaking up the sunshine and reminding everyone to enjoy the little things—fresh air, salty breezes, and plenty of nub-tail wiggles. 💙

🐾✨ PET OF THE WEEK: SNOW ✨🐾

Meet Snow 🤍 — 10 years young and still keeping the backyard under careful supervision.

Snow’s favorite things include:
☀️ Lounging in the backyard on beautiful days
🌿 Back scratches in the grass
🐇 Scaring off suspicious bunny visitors
🚫 And making it very clear that rain is NOT part of her approved weather forecast ☔😂

When the sunshine is out, Snow would much rather stretch out and enjoy the fresh air than head back inside. She’s mastered the art of peaceful backyard lounging while staying alert for any rabbit-related emergencies.

We love our sweet Snow and her gentle, sunny-day spirit 🐾💕

🩺 🐾 Vet Tech Tip Tuesday 🐾 🩺

Let's Talk Flea and Tick Prevention

There are numerous over-the-counter flea and tick medications that are easily accessible without a prescription. They are often times significantly cheaper.

However,

🚩 Most OTC topicals and collars are either not effective, or contain pyrethrins, which are toxic to cats (even those labeled 'cat safe'). Especially Hartz or Adams brands.
🚩 Often times sellers on Amazon or eBay will sell fake Surest collars which can cause neurological issues (seizures) or even worse.
🚩 Homeopathic supplements that contain garlic can actually be toxic if they contain garlic.

So, if you're shopping for flea and tick prevention that does not require a veterinary prescription, the only real product that works ✅ and is nontoxic ✅ are Seresto Collars, K9 Advantix, Vectra 3D and occasionally Frontline.

⭐️ If you purchase any of the four above, please ensure the product you purchase is appropriate for your pet's weight and species. If all else fails, consult with your vet. They can lead you to the right direction.

Fleas and ticks aren't just a nuisance, but pose animal and human health risks. Learn about the safe use of flea and tick preventive products.

🐾 From Goose & the Crew… THANK YOU! 🐾

Well friends… what a pawsome day! 🐶💙

I (Goose 🐾) wanted to hop on here and say THANK YOU to everyone who stopped by, loved on us, chatted with my humans, and supported Pet Sits by Goose, LLC at Tractor Supply Animal Days!

I had my most favorite crew helping me out today—my sister Karma was hard at work holding down the chair (a very serious job, obviously 😎), while my tiny favorite humans helped spread smiles and kept things running.

Seeing familiar faces and meeting new ones reminded us why we love this community so much. ❤️

Whether you need:
🐾 Drop-in visits
🐾 Pet sitting
🐾 Vacation care
🐾 Extra love and attention for your furry family members

—we’d love to help care for your pets like they’re part of our own pack.

Thank you for supporting small business, stopping by our setup, and making today so special. And a big thank you to Tri City Canine for inviting us and sharing their space!

Love,
Goose 🐾
(and Karma… who is still supervising the chair 🤎)
