Have you SEEN this handsome tabby gentleman?

Meet Oliver, a 2-year-old curious, charismatic cutie who has been patiently waiting at the shelter for someone to realize that their new best friend has been sitting here this whole time. Oliver is not interested in being a decorative throw pillow. This boy has places to go, toys to investigate and important household business to supervise. He's playful, energetic and endlessly curious—the kind of cat who will keep you laughing simply because he absolutely needs to know what everyone is doing at all times.

But underneath all that busy tabby business is one seriously sweet guy.

Once Oliver has finished his daily rounds of playing, exploring and conducting extremely important investigations, he's more than happy to slow things down and soak up some affection. He loves attention and would be thrilled to finally have his own person to play with, hang out with and call his best friend.

At just 2 years old, Oliver gives you the best of both worlds: young-cat energy without tiny-kitten insanity. He's playful enough to keep things interesting, affectionate enough to make your heart melt, and curious enough to ensure that absolutely nothing happens in your house without proper supervision.

So we have to ask... How has this handsome, hilarious, fun-loving guy been waiting this long without an application?

Oliver is neutered, microchipped, FeLV/FIV negative/negative, vaccinated, and has been treated with topical flea control and dewormed.

🐾💕 **MEET KYA — THREE YEARS OLD, FULL OF CHARM & YOUR NEW FAVORITE SHADOW!** 😻

**Looking for a little more love in your life? Kya has plenty to spare… and she's prepared to deliver it personally!** ❤️

Meet **Kya**, a gorgeous 3-year-old tabby with beautiful bright eyes, the sweetest little meow, and a heart so full of affection that she's practically overflowing!

After a kindhearted gentleman helped her trade outdoor living for the comforts of indoor life, Kya discovered something wonderful: **People are AMAZING, and she would like to spend as much time with them as possible!** 😹

This gentle, affectionate girl is a professional people-person… well, people-CAT! She'll happily follow you from room to room, supervise your daily activities, and offer her expert opinion on whatever you're doing. Cooking dinner? She's your sous-chef. Folding laundry? Quality control is her specialty. Sitting on the couch? Scoot over, she's coming in for cuddles! 💕

And Kya isn't afraid to speak her mind! With her adorable kitten-like meow and sweet little chirps, she's always ready for a conversation. Especially if the topic happens to be how wonderful she is or when the next cuddle session begins! 🥰

But don't let her calm, easygoing personality fool you. **This girl has PLAYTIME written all over her!** 🎉

Kya is wonderfully adaptable and would fit right into just about any home. She's comfortable around other cats but doesn't need a feline companion to keep her entertained. As long as she has people to adore (and plenty of opportunities to be adored right back), she's one happy kitty! ❤️

❤️🐾 DIRECT CARE IS SO MUCH MORE THAN CARING FOR CATS. 🐾❤️

Ask a Direct Care Volunteer why they keep coming back every week, and the answer probably won’t be the litter boxes. 😹

It’s the cats.

You get to know them.

You learn who runs to greet you and who needs a little more time. Who wants to play, who wants to be held, who has a favorite toy, and who would happily accept chin scratches for your entire shift.

And somewhere along the way, they stop being simply “the cats we care for.”
You form a bond with them. ❤️

You celebrate the little victories that might not seem little at all when you’ve watched them happen.

The cat who wasn’t feeling well starts getting stronger.

The one who kept their distance finally comes over to say hello.

The cat who was unsure about being touched discovers that maybe those head scratches are actually pretty great.

You watch personalities begin to blossom. You watch confidence grow.

You get to watch these cats become who they were always meant to be because they are safe, cared for and loved.

And you know that, in some small way, you helped them get there. ❤️

Then comes the day we’re all hoping for.

They get adopted.

You’re thrilled. You’re proud. And if we’re being completely truthful…your heart hurts a little, too.

Because you’re going to miss them.

You’ll miss seeing that familiar face during your shift. You’ll miss their quirks, their greetings and all those little things you learned about them along the way.

But knowing they’re leaving to start the next chapter of their life in a home of their own?

That’s the bittersweet goodbye we hope to give every single one of them. ❤️

Direct Care isn’t always easy. There are kennels to clean, litter boxes to scoop, bowls to wash, laundry to do, cats to feed and plenty of work that happens behind the scenes.

We do it because we love them.

We do it because they depend on us.

And we do it because watching a cat grow, heal, learn to trust and eventually leave us for a home of their own makes every bit of it worth it.

🐾 And right now, we need more people to experience what it means to be part of their journey.

Meet Ella. This gorgeous, tabby girl is ready for her new beginning. Although you'll be struck by her beautiful coat, she is even more than meets the eye. She is about 1 and a half years old and visibly enthusiastic about life and what's to come. She is happy to spend her time napping, playing, and eating, and is the type of cat who will be ready to greet you as soon as you walk in the door. She adores being pet and getting to relax in a cozy spot, but she's also shown a lot of interest in her scratching post and different toys. If you're looking for a well-rounded and sweet new addition to your life, Ella is your girl.

Our annual **Paws & Pumpkins Fundraiser** was a HUGE success, and we couldn't have done it without YOU! 🐱🎉

There's so much to say about Sadie. Sadie is a gorgeous 3-year-old tortoiseshell with the personality to match her look. She is known to use her signature "chirp" to tell you hello and will gladly accept some pets and scratches on demand. Sadie has a zest for life and play. She will entertain herself upon no end with her toys but will also be happy to share in play-time with you and a wand toy. Sadie is a perfectly well-rounded gal searching for a forever home that will offer her stability, some quiet times for her daytime naps, and a lot of love. She promises to give you the same in return. What more could you ask for?

MEET ADELINE — AFFECTIONATE, ADORABLE & ABSOLUTELY READY TO BE ADORED

At just over 3 years old, Adeline is a tender tortie who doesn’t need to be the center of attention to quietly become the center of your heart. She simply loves being with you. Adeline is sweet, snuggly and seriously affectionate. She’s happiest when she’s near her people, soaking up pets, keeping you company or curling up beside you while you go about your day.

She’s the kind of cat who can turn the most ordinary parts of your day into something special.

There is one part of Adeline’s story that we want her future family to understand.
Adeline has regressive Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV). We know those words can sound intimidating, but the reality of Adeline’s situation is much more encouraging.

Her immune system has successfully suppressed the virus, which means Adeline is healthy, thriving and is not currently shedding the virus.

Cats with regressive FeLV can enjoy long, happy lives with routine veterinary care, and we’re always happy to answer questions and help potential adopters understand what Adeline’s diagnosis means. Because FeLV is one small part of Adeline’s medical history. It isn’t who she is. It doesn’t tell you about her gentle, grateful nature. It doesn’t tell you how she’ll quietly follow you because being near her people is exactly where she wants to be.

Adeline is just over 3 years old and is spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, and has been treated with topical flea control and dewormed.
