Joy is mostly okay for now. She needs to drink Purina Hydra Care daily and she loves it. If you would like to have some sent to her I'll message an address to have it sent to.

Approaching the 12th year of the True Rescue of the Anderson Feline Survivors, I am preparing for Joy to cross the Bridge. I may have a year with her before she leaves this physical plane but I am designing her shrine and will make a nice meaningful box for her ashes if I dont find the perfect container. I am also looking for an artist to paint her portrait.
She has a sarcoma on her side that wont be removed due to her age and she has kidney disease.
Joy is being cared for by an excellent veterinarian and my favorite vet tech who have known her and know her history and have treated so many of the Survivors.

In the 11th year of the True Rescue of the Anderson Feline Survivors, Joy loves pets and prefers to be on a person. Dr. M and Tami got to see her for some mouth inflamation(not nearly as severe as she used to get), and bloodwork for senior blood panel and concern for kidney function. She's fine, just starting to act like an old lady.
Anyone still have any of these cats?

In the 10th year of the True Rescue of the Anderson Feline Survivors, Joy is actually a joy to be here. She has mellowed so much and is very affectionate and is always where I am in the house. Frida and Absynthe are living their best life possible here with Frida being FeLV positive and Absynthe still untouchable.
I'm still amazed at what a handful of volunteers was able to pull off 10 years ago.
I invite anyone who was part of this to share your experience and photos of your Survivors.
Anyone local to the Greenville area want to get together to chat and share stories and commiserate?

In the ninth year of the True Rescue of the Anderson Feline Survivors I have been looking at some of the photos again. We thought Joy was pregnant but when she didn't give birth she went to a veterinarian and was in heat so she was spayed. In this photo she looks like she was lactating but we weren't able to handle her enough to check. We received a box with kittens of various ages in it and divided them up between cats we knew were lactating. Some of them may have been her babies. She has loved all of the kittens I have fostered.

On the eighth year of the True Rescue of the Anderson Feline Survivors Absynthe and Frida are permanent because they are still not friendly and are quite happy here.
Joy gets to stay because of expensive stomatitis treatment. That's fine with me because she's super happy here and loves us and doesn't bite us anymore.
Foster Paws Rescue still supports their medical care because they never turn their back on one of their rescues.

Joy's last stomatitis treatment appears to have alleviated all symptoms. She is just slowing down and getting slightly cranky because of her age. She seems angry this morning.

Joy has been getting treated for stomatitis quite regularly and getting cold laser in her throat. Her veterinarian did a new procedure he learned about and she is symptom free pain free for two months now. I'm so thankful for the dedicated vet tech that volunteers her time for these cats and the veterinarian that she works with. Joy is super sweet at home with me but has severe cage rage so she is crazy when she has to get in a carrier and be confined to a cage at her veterinarian. Hopefully this procedure is permanent treatment or at least very intermittent.

Joy can read her name.
