I was recently asked what I feed my chickens…. Their diet consists of chicken feed, scratch grains, fresh fruits and veggies. Today treats were chopped strawberry tops shredded carrots and shredded purple cabbage.

I have 3 -18ct cartons of fresh eggs 🪺for $6️⃣/cartons… just because the stores prices are more doesn’t mean mine have to go up… did you also read in the news that the US is in talks with Turkey to start importing eggs??? Well I am sure glad I know where mine come from, my backyard!!! This hobby of mine that I took up about 6-7 years ago might not have been a bad idea after all.

All my SC chicken friends….. any one wanting chicks???? It looks like I might be putting in a chick order by the end of the week…. Several friends reached out to me about my Prairie Bluebells and it looks like we are going to go into together for an order. Also, I would like to order some Welsummers. The shipping requirements are min 15 chicks and min of 5 per breed. If there is another breed you’re interested in let me know and I can see if they are available. I am Local to Easley SC. So if you know a friend who is looking let me know. Order and money would be due by Friday and chicks would be here next week!

We added a pre-assembled dog to the original coop to give the flock a bigger run area. Adding a 2nd coop after Chuck’s sons about killed him. So Chuck will have his own coop with his own ladies when we are done. Then we will make a 3rd smaller coop for the silkies.
