To All of Our Valued Northwest Pets Customers,
On April 2nd, Angie Peterson, who was half of my heart and soul, and my partner in founding and building all things Northwest Pets, passed away far too soon after a difficult 22 month journey with pancreatic cancer. She was a person of remarkable strength and faith, who never complained and would endure anything to get to spend more time with us here before moving on.
Angie and I married in September of 1997, and having both grown up with many childhood pets in our lives, the first thing we wanted to do was to get a house with a yard big enough for a dog. It wound up being two dogs soon enough, as Bernese Mountain Dogs Willow and Teddy entered our lives and brought us so much laughter and joy. We didn't know it at the time, but showing our dogs, dealing with some of their persistent canine health issues, and wanting to be the very best pet parents we could be was the genesis of Northwest Pets.
After leaving our corporate jobs and moving back to Idaho in July 2005 to raise our human kids close to her family, Angie and I did literally everything in our lives together as soon as we opened our small business. In challenging times or easier ones, we loved every single minute of the time we got to spend with each other at work, at home, or at play.
I cannot overemphasize how persistently Angie poured her blood, sweat, and tears into Northwest Pets, all while simultaneously managing to be a caring and completely selfless wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend. Alongside our valued Northwest Pets team, she was a tremendously important part of why our little company has been able to successfully navigate the difficult terrain of the retail business and make it to our twentieth year last Fall.
Angie was simply an amazing and beautiful woman, full of talent, love, passion, and grace, who our girls and I will miss tremendously each and every day. She was a role model who always put the needs of others first, and can never be replaced. But amidst the sadness and grief that our team and her family are feeling for her, we will do everything we can to help Northwest Pets continue to honor and serve her legacy by caring for you, our customers and your cherished pets, in the same deep way that she did.
I love you forever, Angie.
