Today was a great reminder of how grateful I am for my clients.

Thank you for always being so patient and understanding when my schedule shifts unexpectedly. Working with animals means that no two days are ever the same. You can’t plan when a dog suddenly needs a bath, when there’s an accident that needs to be cleaned up, or when another animal has an urgent need that requires immediate attention. Those moments can occasionally make me late to my other responsibilities, but they’re also part of providing the best care possible.

Today, I was asked to syringe feed three-week-old foster kittens that were medically unstable while my client was at work. Because of your flexibility, I didn’t have to rush through their care. I was able to make sure they were fed, comfortable, and settled before moving on to the rest of my day.

I especially appreciate clients who communicate their drop-off and pick-up times ahead of time and are flexible if those times need to shift a little. That flexibility allows me to give every animal the time and attention they deserve, whether they’re staying with us or at your home.

Your grace and understanding allow me to give every animal the time and care they deserve. I truly appreciate each and every one of you for making that possible 🩵

2026 Important Dates!

Shayla will be unavailable August 13-17.

We’ll still be welcoming easy-going pups for boarding during these times, but all communication regarding drop-off and pick-up must go through our business number. Messages sent to social media or Shayla’s personal number (0151) will not be responded to in a timely manner.

If you don’t have our business number, please reach out and we’ll be happy to share it with you!

Along with our new business name, we are happy to announce we have a new website! Clients are encouraged to book pet sitting & check-in’s through our online forms. This will allow clients to provide detailed information for the care of their pets and/or property.

As we begin transitioning to our website, effective immediately, we will only be responding to Facebook messages Monday through Friday, unless the message is directly about times for meet & greets, drop off’s, pickup’s, or other services. Please allow up to three business days for a response, as we prioritize the pets in our care.

Reminders:

Facebook & Instagram story posts are not guaranteed.

We will reach out if any questions or concerns arise with a client’s pet or property. No news is good news!

If a client is late to the Paws Lodge by 10 minutes, we may not be present upon client arrival as we often need to tend to other responsibilities. For drop off’s, the client will be asked to leave their dog(s) in our waiting area. For pick-up’s, the dog(s) will be left in the waiting area for pickup.

One of our amazing clients, Guinness’s dad, Nick, built us a desk & gate for our new reception area! Clients visiting the Paws Lodge are welcome to enter through our lower front door to pickup or drop off their pups. Please remember to communicate to ensure our door is unlocked for you!

If clients are unsure of their arrival time or arrive outside of their scheduled time, the pups are also welcome to stay in our waiting area for pickup or drop off. Please communicate so we can have your pup in the waiting area for pickup before your arrival, or if you have dropped off your pup so we can let them upstairs as soon as possible.

Please bear with us as we slowly decorate and establish our reception area along with our new business name, Dogwoods LLC!
