Ravenwood Veterinary Clinic We are a locally-owned, multi-doctor, small animal/exotic companion animal practice. Urgent care hours on most Saturdays and Sundays.

Our History:

Ravenwood Veterinary Clinic was established in 1990 by Dr. Susan Wagnon--a pillar of the sprint dog mushing community. In April of 2020, Dr. Wagnon transferred ownership of her clinic to Dr. Jamie Merrigan, one of her long-time associates. Dr. Merrigan has been with Ravenwood since 2013 and strives to keep the practice locally owned and operated, while continuing to uphold Ravenwood's motto: Patient care is our priority. This week we are transitioning to a new Voice Over Internet phone system and will be working hard to keep interruptions to a minimum. Most downtime should happen outside of business hours, but we appreciate your patience while we complete this upgrade!

Last weekend our very own Katelyn McDonald represented Ravenwood at the “Friends of CDMA” race at Beach Lake and she won the whole darn thing! Spring means the return of the Best of Alaska competition, a community-driven way to recognize the businesses and services Alaskans love most. Voting is open from March 1 through March 31, 2026, and the winners will be featured in the July issue of Alaska Business Magazine.

Eagle River is filled with hardworking small businesses—from restaurants like Corks and Hops and Jalapeños, to shops like Oopsie Daisy and Sleepy Dog Cafe, to healthcare teams such as Eagle View Family Dental and Hindman Chiropractic, and many other wonderful local businesses that rely on the support of our community.

✨ Success Story: Sweet Bella! ✨ Before and After!

Beautiful Bella came to us with entropion — a condition where the eyelids roll inward, causing the lashes to rub against the eye (ouch!). Both of her eyes were affected, with her right one being worse. After her entropion surgery, Bella is feeling so much better and seeing the world clearly again! 💕

We’re so happy for her happy eyes 👀💖

Here at Ravenwood, we do so much more than spays, neuters, and dentals — including specialized surgeries like Bella’s!
