Rabies is a viral disease that is almost always fatal once symptoms appear, but it is entirely preventable through vaccination and prompt medical treatment after exposure. The virus is primarily transmitted through the bite of an infected animal, with bats, raccoons, skunks , coyotes and stray dogs/cats being common carriers in various regions.

Rabies is a serious viral infection that poses significant health risks.

Transmission — Rabies is spread mainly through bites from infected animals, particularly bats and dogs.
Symptoms — Initial symptoms include fever and headache, progressing to confusion, paralysis, and ultimately death.
Prevention — Vaccination is effective if administered promptly after exposure to the virus.
