Last night Meg had her c-section/spay and delivered 10 beautiful babies: 6 boys & 4 girls. With dogs the timing for a C-section has to be extremely exact. We have a window of about to 12 to 24 hours to time it perfectly. In the morning she wasn’t quite ready but mid-afternoon her progesterone got to the right level so the amazing vets & staff at Molalla River Veterinary Center came in (some on their day off) and stayed open an extra 2 hours so they could dedicate the whole clinic staff to get these babies here safely. 10 babies is a lot to work on getting breathing & dried off so it was all hands on deck! I am beyond grateful to them for giving Meg the best of care❤️.
We opted for a c-section for Meg as it was the safest way to have such a large litter born without an extremely long labor which puts puppies in distress. She was spayed during the surgery as she has blessed us with such amazing puppies and it’s time for her to continue living her best life with her guardian❤️. She is such an incredible dog & an amazing mother. Yesterday was truly a miraculous day and I feel so so blessed that mom and babies are doing so well🥹.
