Lately, many of us in the rescue world have been reminded just how quickly situations can spiral when too many dogs are left without proper care, resources, or responsible breeding practices in place. The reality is heartbreaking — and it’s also why rescue matters so deeply.

At Upper Midwest Great Dane Rescue, we never know when the next urgent call will come. A medical emergency. A neglect case. A senior needing somewhere safe to land. A large intake requiring immediate help.

We want to be in a position to say ‘yes’ every time we get that call. To help us do that, we need you. Your donations allow us to say “yes” when Danes need us most. 💙

They help provide:
🐾 Emergency veterinary care
🐾 Safe foster homes
🐾 Transportation to safety
🐾 Food, medications, and daily care
🐾 Education to help prevent these situations in the future

Every dollar helps ensure we can continue being there — not only for the dogs already in our care, but for the ones whose stories haven’t started yet.

🎉🏡 Congratulations to Phoebe! 🏡🎉

Well... Phoebe pulled the ultimate foster-fail move! 😍❤️

If you didn't see much about Miss Phoebe on our social media pages, there's a very good reason—she arrived at her foster home and quickly decided, "Yep, I live here now." 🛋️👑

It didn't take long for her foster family to realize that Phoebe wasn't going anywhere. Her sweet, loving personality melted hearts from day one, and it was obvious she had known love before entering rescue. 💕🐾

Phoebe is now officially joining UMGDR alum Fonzie! 🥳 The two adorable fawn-colored pups have already been serving up some serious twinning energy. 👯‍♀️🐶🐶 Between their matching colors, similar sizes, and overwhelming cuteness, we're not entirely convinced there aren't two Phoebes running around the house! 😂

Congratulations, sweet girl! We are so happy you've found exactly where you belong. ❤️🏡✨

It’s another follow up Friday!!!! We just love seeing these. ❤️

🐾 Tails of Success: Mabel (formerly Bella) 🐾

Mabel was adopted by the Jones family in Minnesota in 2024 when she was just 4 months old — and she has truly blossomed into the sweetest, goofiest girl! 💙

This energetic pup keeps her family laughing with her playful personality… though don’t let her size fool you — house flies are absolutely terrifying in Mabel’s world. 😂

When she’s not playing, you can usually find her snuggled up under a blanket (her head MUST be covered while she sleeps!) or proudly carrying around her beloved giant stuffed dino nugget. 🦖

Mabel also adores her two dog sisters, including her fellow Great Dane sibling, and the trio has become the best of friends.

We love seeing our alumni thriving I’m in their forever homes, and Mabel’s happy ending is exactly why rescue matters. Thank you to the Jones family for giving this sweet girl the life she deserves! 🐾
