Your pet has a secret third eyelid!!! 👀🐾 Dogs and cats have a nictitating membrane, an extra layer of protection that helps keep their eyes clean and protected.

It’s just one of the many little things that make our pets pretty amazing.

Parasites don’t take a season off, and neither should prevention. Keeping your pet protected year-round is one of the simplest ways to help prevent fleas, ticks, heartworms, and intestinal parasites before they become a bigger problem.

Not sure which prevention is right for your pet? We can help you find an option that fits their age, lifestyle, environment, and individual needs.

Give us a call or book an appointment online to keep your pet protected!

🚨 FRIENDLY REMINDER: WE ARE STILL CLOSED ON SATURDAYS! 🚨

We’ve been operating on our temporary Saturday closure schedule for the past few months, but we know old habits are hard to break—so here’s your reminder! 💛🐾

Ellis Crossing Animal Hospital is currently open:
📅 Monday–Friday
⏰ 8:00 AM–5:30 PM
🚫 CLOSED Saturdays & Sundays

Our Saturday closure will remain in place until further notice. We truly appreciate your flexibility as we create a schedule that gives our team the balance and flexibility they need while continuing to provide the best care for you and your pets. 💙

🩺 Need care while we’re closed?
For urgent care needs, please plan accordingly and utilize local urgent care options during their available hours.

🚨 For emergencies, Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) – Chapel Hill is open 24/7. You can contact VEG directly or call our regular clinic number after hours to be connected to our emergency guidance line.

💊 Please remember to plan ahead for medication pickups, sample drop-offs, appointments, and other clinic needs before the weekend.

And one more time for the people—and pets—in the back:

SATURDAYS = CLOSED. Until further notice.
Tell a friend. Tell your pet. Tell your pet’s group chat. 😂🐶🐱

Thank you for continuing to work with us!

No two pets are exactly alike. So their care shouldn’t be one-size-fits-all either.

Age, breed, lifestyle, health history, environment- it all plays a role in what your pet needs to stay happy and healthy.

We look at the whole picture and work with you to make care decisions that fit your pet. Because personalized care starts with knowing who we’re caring for.

Is your pet up to date on their parasite prevention this month?

Staying consistent helps keep them protected from fleas, ticks, heartworms, and other unwanted guests. If you’re running low, missed a dose, or aren’t sure what your pet needs, give us a call—we’re happy to help!

🍑✂️ The reverse BBL nobody asked for… but definitely needed. 😅

This patient came to us with a significantly overgrown mass measuring a whopping 13 × 11.5 × 9 cm. The mass was surgically removed and identified as a soft tissue sarcoma.

Soft tissue sarcomas are tumors that arise from connective tissues and can sometimes grow quite large before they begin causing obvious problems. Masses that are growing, changing in appearance, or just not going away are always worth having evaluated by your veterinarian.

Safe to say, this patient left surgery carrying a little less in the back. 🍑😂

✨ Friendly reminder: Don’t wait for a lump to become a whole dump truck. If you notice a new or changing mass on your pet, get it checked!

Since we have your attention…

Consider this your sign to check when your pet’s next wellness exam is due! Routine visits give us a chance to check in on their overall health, catch changes early, and make sure their care stays on track.

Not sure if they’re due? Give us a call, we’re happy to check!
