Our first Summit trial is officially in the books! 🐾❤️

I’m still trying to wrap my head around this weekend! We had the opportunity to trial alongside the best of the best, and what an experience it was!

Eight searches over two days brought us a little bit of everything — a couple of really great searches, a couple that were… well, not quite so great, and A LOT of learning along the way. We even managed to earn a 1st-place finish in one search and a 2nd-place finish in another!

We didn’t come home with a Summit title this time, but I came home with something that means so much more. This weekend reminded me just how incredible my teammate Rooney really is. I don’t give her nearly enough credit for everything she brings to our team. She continues to amaze me, challenge me, and teach me with every search.

I have an absolutely fantastic teammate at the end of my leash, and I’m so grateful that Rooney and I get to be on this journey together. ❤️

A huge thank you to Sarah Woodruff for hosting and for the wonderful goodie bag, our fantastic CO Maria, judges Lee Laubach and Susan Frisch, VC Lynn Rhinesmith and all of the volunteers who helped make this weekend possible. It was so nice to see so many familiar faces volunteering, and having Jennifer Arnold as my parking lot buddy made the weekend even better! We appreciate all of you!

No title this time, but plenty of memories, lessons, and reasons to be proud of my girl. And if there’s one thing I’m taking away from this weekend, it’s that I need to start giving Rooney a whole lot more credit. She truly is an incredible teammate, and I’m one lucky girl to have her at the end of my leash. ❤️🐾

Every great nosework team starts with a single sniff! 🐾

Today our Intro to Nosework pups took their skills outdoors, working on primary hides while building confidence in a brand-new environment. Watching these dogs learn to trust their noses—and themselves—is one of the best parts of the journey.

We’re building confident dogs, one sniff at a time. 💙🐶

One of the biggest skills our Intro to Odor teams are developing is learning to source odor. 🐾

Our dogs have been working with Birch and are learning to follow the scent to its strongest point—the location of the hide. It’s incredible to watch them gain confidence and trust their noses a little more with every search!

🐾 Meet Buck! 🐾

This handsome guy has started his nosework journey, and right now our focus is all about building confidence and creating positive exposure to new environments, scents, and experiences. 💙

For dogs like Buck, nosework is so much more than “finding odors.” It gives them the chance to work independently, make choices, and discover that the world can be exciting instead of overwhelming.

Pearl got it done today! 🐾🏆

I was honored to handle my classmate’s dachshund, Pearl, in her Level 1 Container Trial. Pearl came to work and earned the final qualifying leg needed for her Level 1 Container Title! 🎉

She searched like a pro and was an absolute joy to run. The only thing keeping us from a perfect day? A little extra dog slobber. 😂

Congratulations, Pearl! Thank you for letting me be part of your title journey. I’m pretty sure Pearl thinks titles are nice, but snacks are better. ❤️🐾

Don’t let her size fool you! ✈️🐾

Zeena arrives at class with her paws barely touching the ground. She doesn’t walk in—she flies in! If there were a speed limit in Nosework, she’d definitely be getting a ticket.

And that tongue? 👅 It’s not just adorable—it doubles as a built-in wind indicator, helping us track the direction of her zoomies.

Small dog. Big personality. Zero contact with the earth. 💨❤️

A huge thank you to Sarah Woodruff for hosting such a fun Sniff & Go! The search areas were creative, challenging, and a blast to work through.

Team Rooney had an amazing time and was on a mission today—she managed to find all of the groundhog hides! 🦫🐾

It was also so much fun catching up with everyone and spending the day with fellow scent work enthusiasts. Thanks to everyone who helped make it such a great event. We can’t wait for the next one!
