Clear Creek/Gilpin Co. Animal Shelter (Charlie's Place) Charlie's Place is a county-owned and managed animal shelter serving the residents of Clear Creek and Gilpin Counties.

We are open by appointment in the afternoons. Charlie's Place is a new, modern, county owned and managed animal shelter serving the residents of Clear Creek and Gilpin Counties. We are located in Dumont, just 40 minutes west of Denver on the I70 corridor. Spay/neuter vouchers are available for Clear Creek and Gilpin County residents. LOST DOG--WARD. Petrie is an 8-year-old Pit mix who went missing yesterday afternoon while on a camping trip. He has a white tip on his tail and his left ear has a split/ a piece missing.
