It’s been a dang busy week on the farm!! Baby goats and a hatching emu! I’m in absolute awe of what’s been accomplished this spring. 🥰

Here’s your daily dose of cuteness feat. Annie and her kids, Ruth and Jack. These kids were TORMENTING their poor mama. She would stand up and they would nurse, she would lie down and they would jump on her. Luckily she got to spend some time away from her kiddos and with her herd today while we socialized Ruth and Jack with humans. Afterwords they were all definitely happy to be back together!!

All the girlies and babies had some serious spring fever today!! I let them out of their pen to stretch their legs this evening. They were all so happy even the biggest girls were literally bouncing!!

Started my Sunday at 6am with my first ever quad birth. Miss Annie had 2 bucklings and 2 doelings but sadly we lost the very first buckling. This first time mama did pretty good and is very tentative to her babies. Still watching closely at this point to make sure everyone is going to get up and nurse.

Last winter, I sold my favorite goat, Irene. Not even 3 months later she was back up for sale so I picked her up and brought her back home. She looked very rough. She was starved, severely underweight and mineral deficient. She was weak and her hair was falling out in patches. As upsetting as the situation was, I can’t help but to wonder if her leaving saved her from the tragic bear attack last spring. Either way, with some TLC and groceries we got her healthy and was able to be bred for 2018 kidding. She blessed us with these two beautiful kids. Irene is my special girl.
