Excellent article explaining the needs for community outreach events! Doing our best to ensure overpopulation at the shelter is prevented as best we can by targeting those who need help the most.

The Free Clinic was held at the Habersham County Fairgrounds in Clarkesville on December 16 served 240 pets in three hours

We were SOOOO busy on Saturday morning doing good with Habersham County Animal Shelter, that we didn't even get a chance to post! Our team saw a whopping 240 animals in just a little over 4 hours. That's 20% more than what we promised! It was brutally cold and the wind made things hard for our team, but we persevered. Even the GRINCH couldn't stop us!

These were some of the sweetest and most grateful dogs and cats we've seen all year! More posts to come with our recap numbers, but our program loves to share our success with you.

HUGE thanks to Habersham County Animal and The Allen Family for sponsoring this event. Without their contributions, there would not have been an outreach! And thank you to Petco Love for the distemper vaccines and Atlanta Humane Society for the food/treats we were able to distribute.

Looking forward to seeing our friends in Habersham County this Saturday! Just a reminder, for your pets to be seen, you will need a golden ticket. Please contact Habersham County Animal Shelter for more information!

One of our most successful outreach events to date! Help us thank our AMAZING team who showed up and worked tirelessly to see 53 more animals than the 200 we promised! We ended up seeing patients until supplies ran out.

By the numbers...
253 pets
197 rabies vax
232 distemper vax
165 microchips
121 s/n vouchers

All of this is done to keep pets healthy and happy in their homes, preventing them from ending up in a shelter or with litters contributing to our current overpopulation crisis!

Whew! 253 extremely grateful dogs and cats in just over 4 hours!!!! And with that, we are done for the day!

HUGE thank you to Walton County Animal Control for sponsoring this event, as well as Best Friends and Walton Humane for sponsoring the spay/neuter vouchers for after. Lastly, we appreciate all of the owners who woke up early and joined us so that their pets could get medical care on this chilly, wet morning!

Tomorrow is a VERY important day for us in the non-profit world! It is Giving Tuesday, the largest single day for donations in our world. We will have videos and stories all day long as we fundraise to continue our life saving missions into the next year.

Follow along at our main page, Planned PEThood of GA and please donate! There will be bonus prize money available from GAgives, as well as matching gifts. A donation of even $5 will go so far to helping the many dogs and cats that come through our doors.

Christmas came early for hundreds of pet owners in Habersham County on Saturday: Their pets received free veterinary services at a pop-up clinic at the county fairgrounds in Clarkesville.
