How did I ever manage to get my four German Shepherds so well on/off leash obedience trained without an electric shock collar...

Using the German Shepherd breed as an example, if you're shopping for a bargain priced puppy, good luck, with that said I hope you're able to find one with good hips/temperament, but if your $500.00 Craigslist special grows into a fearful, timid biter, you have a management problem rather than a training problem, you can't train an overly anxious dog to be anything other than what it is, however you can manage the triggers, to those in the market for a new GSD puppy, my advice would be to educate yourself on the breed, research the breeder, how much should be your last question, either way, I'm always here to advise..

Dog's are children, they're innocent, dependent on you for everything and love you unequivocally, how you treat them defines you as a person, an example would be, if you're stuffing yourself while your dog goes hungry, you're a degenerate.....

Back in the late 70's when I first got involved with the Rottweiler they were extremely rare, a breed pretty much unknown to the average person, so the Rottweilers that were available were from solid breeding, then along comes the movie (The Omen) and everyone wanted one, with that came the backyard breeders, soon after the breed was ruined, this same scenario is currently unfolding with the Malinois, I'm hearing one bad story after another regarding that breed...

I'm feeding four German Shepherds, I can honestly say that I spend more to feed them than I do for myself, in order for me to even come close I'd have to be a regular at Ruth's Chris Steak House.....

My dogs are all stocky, muscular and fully developed. people stop me in the street and say, wow, what to you feed those german shepherds to get them like that, I'll answer, they do get a premium dog food and plenty of it, but most important, they're not neutered, I don't neuter my dogs in the middle of their puppyhood, it takes a GSD a full three years plus to fully develop, I'm not about to remove their growth hormones at eleven months of age, I can spot a dog who was neutered as a puppy from a mile away......

I don't make speeches about how owners need to be the "pack leader" I don't use terms like that, but, with that said, I do have four German Shepherds living in the house with me and they understand that I will not tolerate any bullying among them on any level, I've always had multiple dogs all living together, Boxers, Rottweilers, GSD's, and I've never had a problem with fighting.....
